Do you do extra things for your spouse/partner/children?

My husband and I had been talking about doing things for each other. I had come to realize that he hasn't bought anything for us in awhile. And he often says that he pays the rent and so that's it. We were in the store looking at clothes for our daughter and he made the comment that with the prices of clothes he is never going to buy our daughter any new clothes. Do you buy "extra " things for your spouse/or children at times. I think that for example paying the rent is the only thing a person feels they should do for their family, or buying food. Because even if we as individuals would be single we would still have to pay our rent or buy ourselves food. I think it's important to show that we care for others in other ways as well.

I always do extra things for my family and even friends. I don't stick to one or two usual things that I use to do. Rather I would like to add extra to show my love and care to everyone that I love. Because, when we love our family, relatives and friends- an extra is actually not an extra- but it is given by us with love.

I'm glad to hear that you are often doing things for your family and friends. It is good to add extra things to show your love and care for them. You definitely make a good point about the extra my husband doesn't seem to understand that point.

i have only one son and he has his own family already. he is working and he is financially independent but i usually send him money every month for extras. he says i don't have to do this but i still do. i live away from them and once in a while i buy things, put everything in a big box, and i send it to them when the box gets full.

That is awesome! I'm sure that they appreciate receiving things like that. I could see myself doing something like that when my daughter is older as well. I'm sure it makes you feel good to be able to do that for your son and his family.
