How old do you think your daughter should be to be allowed to wear make up and lipstick to see a movie with a boy her age. Is she old enough? And should she be going to the movies with a fourteen year old boy? Do you think their movie date is acceptable?

Ooh, that's a tough one. I certainly don't encourage my 12 years old daughter to wear makeup. She does sometimes experiment with mine, but she's never used makeup when we go out. I do advise her to wear something like lipgloss, which, in my humble opinion, is not as harsh as lipstick. I certainly would not allow my daughter to go to a movie alone with a 14-year old. Fortunately, my daughter has not asked to do that yet. The pre-teens are a difficult stage for parents and children. Good luck!

I don't think my 16 year old daughter is interested in 14 year old boys. :) Fortunately, I don't think the 12 year old is either. I'm thinking 16 is a good age as long as it's just a movie...

This is a very difficult question.... 14 is a hard age. I started wearing makeup when I was 12-13. It's sad that kids want to grow up so soon. I don't know if I would allow a 14 year old to go to the movie without parental supervision - is that overprotective? I don't have kids, and when I do, it's going to be a terrible dillemma deciding when to allow them to do things. I think at 14, she could maybe go to a movie... But I wouldn't have her wearing makeup quite yet (it seems as though when you start wearing makeup, it is a life-long commitment...) But I guess that's completely up to the parent's discretion. Both might be harmless.

If I am parent, I would forbidden my daughter to go out with a 14 - year old out at her age. And she shouldn't go out during her weekdays, because I am worrying about her study, and her homework all that stuff. Anyway, she is allowable to go out with a bunch of friends at her teen age, but to fall in love, that is too early to say.

i dont think its appropriate . maybe a hang out in our house maybe nicer so I can also know the it better . make ups I also disagree for pre teens to use them because it might cause allergies for their young skin .
