Man City won the battle of the billionaire clubs to reach the final of the FA Cup. Thy will now face Wigan at Wembley. Even if they win the cup, it will be scant consolation especially after they have so meekly surrender the league title to cross town rival Man Utd.

It is puzzling that Manchester City could find the - It is puzzling that Manchester City could find themselves 12 points behind.
Manchester City is fearsome when they are on song. They could just beat any team in the English Premiership with not much difficulty. So it is indeed puzzling how they could get themselves 12 points behind Manchester United. The way they bossed Chelsea in that FA Cup semi-final in attack, midfield and defense was simply awesome. Winning the FA Cup may not be comparable to being the EPL Champion but still, not winning the FA Cup after having not much chance to win the EPL Championship this season could be even worse. Wigan is the underdog in the FA Cup final. Will they bite the blues?

The normal English season is extremely packed, with Carling Cup, FA Cup, Champion's League and Premier League. A team cannot be on top in all tournaments all the time. However, you will agree with me that right now, they're on top, having seen off top clubs: Manchester United and Chelsea within a short time. Come next season, if they continue with this run, they will stand the best time of taking the Premier League trophy.

A professional club like Manchester City who is owned by someone with a bottomless pocket and who is not shy to splash out his money should not use too many matches or too many tournaments as an excuse for their dismay showings(by their standard)this season. They already know that they will be playing in four fronts. Anyway, we all know that Manchester City can easily play two teams with more or less the same quality players to tackle all the matches. Mancini has not been doing too well with all the gems that he has got. It is true that the ball is round but then failing so miserably in ECL and being 12 point down is hard to justify for the 2012 EPL Champion.

As pointed out, it is indeed puzzling how far they have fallen behind Man Utd. One could only blame complacency.

With the FA Cup, they will hold their heads high. They are right now on top, having pipped high-flying Manchester United at home, and seeing off Chelsea in the semis of the FA Cup. This is a warning for next season. They might take the Premier League trophy.

They will definitely be in the thick of action for the next season, especially so if they add another few more quality players.

This is a solace to Manchester City, after they managed to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. That's because if you can menagalahkan Wigan who have first to make sure the ticket in the FA Cup final, this will be the consolation title after they failed to retain the Premier League title won by the brothers back in their city, Manchester United.
