hello every one .. I am a ebay seller and have been since 2005. And I sold an item to some one in south America. I mailed the item off and the post office didn't scan it .. and know the person said they didn't get it and want a full refund. They have 9 positive remarks and we have over 4000. I know people scam all the times.. but they don’t last long on ebay.. if they don't mail items out. I know I should just give them their money and move on.. I just can't afford to .. and the point is I remember mailing it and handing it to the post office. Oh these international shoppers and be a pain in the you know what.. anyway just wanted to get on my soap box.thank you for reading.

Hi, I am a ebay buyer, and I got my product in the time in the sealed packed position. I bought it from USA and it came all the way to India safely. I think ebay is a good platform to buy the things, but you have a sad story so it makes me sad too.

No my dear friend, not most time feel sad but seldom. As most people are the good ones. So please do not worry about this, but just have a normal attitude towards with ebay just like before you did, I think it is a very good platform for all of us buying and selling things~~~

the only thing you have to worry about his her finally getting the product and you already gave her her money back.

According to the discussion, the refund wasn't given back because they can't afford too.

Unfortunately proof of postage isn't proof of delivery. Realistically you probably don't have any choice but to refund - if the buyer escalates the complaint, it could stuff up your eBay business, so you'll just have to take the hit. And don't forget to add the buyer to your blocked bidders list. The same thing's happened to me two or three times (I just refunded someone today) and it's annoying to have to refund someone, but it's better than getting your seller account closed.

Hey heradog. I understand waht you mean. I'm a seller on ebay as well as gumtree (not sure if you have heard of it) but it's just another website to sell stuffs too. I've been scammed once and the person ask me to send the item to the US then after that they told me there were some issues with my account and want me to transfer them some money. back to your case. did the buyer pay you before you mailed the stuff over?

I am also an ebay seller, it seems there have so many such things happened on Ebay. But unfortunately for most time we seller not only have to refund but also we have shipped the item already, it is very horrible to seller, I think for most time we should choose a good and reliable courier and also with tracking number. Anyway, as the basic, both we seller and buyer should trust and be honest to each other so we can keep the business going on.

Hello. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm also an E-bay seller. I haven't been at it as long as you but I'm doing OK. I know with all of my Listings I exclude all foreign countries for now. I know that if I do open up my shipping to ....say..South America I would most certainly pay for insurance and tracking. It's totally worth it. You have to protect yourself. In this case to keep them from giving you a negative rating, you should probably just refund the money. I know it's hard. I sold an item for $269 and had to refund it but I also soon resold it to a happy customer. This too shall pass. Unfortunately, I guess you'll have to chalk this one up in the "hard knocks" category. Keep on keepin on Heradog.

I'm also an Ebay dealer and I live in the U.S. I would never in a million years send something to South America without insurance on it. That's taking a chance. I only sell to the U.S. though so I don't really have to worry about it. You have to give them a refund back to stay in good standing with Ebay and Paypal because they are saying they did not recieve the product. You'll never prove whether they did or didn't now. At least with insurance you're covered.
