I went to see my nurse today and I actually got to see the doctor for the very first time. I am followed by the nurse who reports to the doctor. Anyhow, the doctor suggested I get bariatric surgery, you know the stomach staples or other procedures. She said I will meet with the team and they will discuss with me the best method for me.
I am a bit afraid but I want to go through with it.
any thoughts?

I wish you the best with it. You will likely go through an evaluation physically and psychologically to see that surgery will be the best answer. The weight will come back. Maybe not all of it, but given enough years and continued bad habits the weight comes back. As you know I gained 70 over the years and its been no picnic trying to lose it. Surgeons don't like redoing the gastric bypass because the mortality rate is higher the second time around.
If you stay away from fats and continue to eat small portions after the 18 month window, and walk a lot you should do well. Your diabetes will likely go away once you start losing.

well I will have to see, maybe the team won't even think it is good for me, but at least I am over the hill I am not afraid of it anymore. How much time did it take for your recovery?

For me it was about 3 months because I was cut down the middle. It was not laparoscopic.
