It is my feeling that not everyone needs to have an iPhone. I mean I don't have one and it isn't because of the fact that I couldn't afford to have one, it is simply because of the fact that I don't want to have an iPhone. I'm perfectly happy with the fact that I have a phone that works to make phone calls, send text messages and I even have unlimited internet on my phone as well. If I was to resort to an iPhone I wouldn't be able to have the option of unlimited internet and would have to pay for each bit of my data usage.

Many years ago, I was talking to a young work colleague of mine and he was showing me his new phone, before the iphone era. He showed me that it could do this and it could do that and it could do the other, then he asked if my phone could do it all. I said that my phone could make phone calls and send/recieve text messages, take a few photos and I wasn't sure what else. He asked why I didn't even know what my phone could do, so I replied that as long as it makes call, texts and is and emergency camera, I wasn't bothered about anything else. Years later, friends raved about their iphones and were constantly astounded that I had no interest at all in their extra features. I've now got a smart phone, but I only upgraded because it gives good reception and has a better camera. I don't need or want anything else.

I hold a different opinion about it. It is a fashionable trend to have an Iphone, especially among young people. It does not necessarily mean that one is rich if he or she has an Iphone. I don't use Iphone, but a smart phone from our own country. Many of my students use Iphones although they are not financially capable of getting them. They get Iphones from their parents. I don't think I will ever consider buying an Iphone because the price is too high and unacceptable to me. I would rather use a smart phone good for value, but cheap.
