Okay, we all hate to wait in long line during a check out after shop what you wanted. I think Walmart, the biggest retail chain in our nation also aware the frustration their customers experience during the check out in a busy time. Their experiment #1, people like to place order online, and usually after you purchase something through their website, you can either go to the nearest Walmart store to pick it up, or had it ship to you. So, if you want to pick up your purchased items from their stores, they called it "digital locker". They will email you the locker number, and the code to open it whenever your items are ready. So, you simply walk into their locker room and pick up your items. Experiment #2, you can download their app to your smart phone, which the app allow you to scan the purchased item barcode while you are shopping. When you are ready to pay, simply walk right up to their cash register, they have a specialized computer to retrieve the scanned data from your smart phone, and you simply pay up the total. So, what do you think that 2 customer service improvements through walmart. I think it is neat, and it really might help expedite the customer service too.

I just had some a bad experience last week with walmart. You know Walmart is known for accepting competitor's coupons right. Recently, a target inmy neighbourhood opened the grocery section so target has been sending neighborhoods coupons; I was wondering if Walmart would take it so I brouhg tthem with them and asked at thte CR first before I started shopping, the CR said yeah just go ahead, the cashier won't scan it but they would match the price... so I went shopped and guess what, when the cashier was scanning all the coupons, somebody came up and said they don't take these kind of coupons... blah blah blah, then I was not gonna buy it if walmart doens't take it so I made them take the stuff that had the target coupon off the list. it was worth 25 plus dollars. So I went to Target instead, could have done it at target but walmart price is generally cheaper... So I went home and sent a complain of course I didn't expect I would get any response and sure enough I did not. CR at Walmart never seem fine to me, as long as they remain low price, I am happy with it, I don't look for dealing with their CR if I don't have to.

It sounds like a good idea. I would rather go to the register, in case the items I ordered online are not the right one I'm looking for. I don't want to risk defeating the purpose by going back anyway because of a wrong package in both scenarios. I even like the self checkout because they seem to have less lines. Only one store in my area has that and it's not Wal-Mart, although we do have the supercenter. I think placing orders is fine, but it's returning them that could be a problem.

I love the first ideal. How many times have I gone to the pickup area for a package and there is no one there to help me. I have to wait around or look for a clerk to help me out. Then they are in the back room looking for the package way to long. Just going to a locker to get the item would be great. I hope both of these experiments work and are permantly implemented.
