I am a plant nut and was so excited when I got clippings from an old jade plant today. When I was getting ready to take my friend to Colorado Springs I decided it wouldn't hurt to stop at Big O and have my tires checked. While I was there I was admiring this huge, old jade plant. The guy told me to take some clippings from it. I was so happy. I haven't had a jade plant in years. What a great way to start my day.

I like all plants, but I kill most of them. Except the cactus...

That is great! I love getting free plant clippings! I want to fill my house with plants. In years past I have had several plants all over the place. A few years ago while moving several were killed when we left them overnight in the house we were leaving and Keith turned the heat off and it got majorly cold. I was so bummed! Glad you and your green thumb have more plants to work with!

That is a shame that you lost those plants. I have 40+ in here right now. I can always send you clippings in the mail if I have some that you don;t. Just let me know.

I had one on my verandah on our farm. It wa so beautiful and covered the whole verandah. We did not mind sweeping up the petals as it hung around three sides of the verandah and hung from the roof. It was beautiful. Thanks for the memory. I do hope that it survives and thrives.

We put wiring along the posts and it grew along the wiring until it was all covered. It gave wondeful shade to from the sun. I just loved it.

I don`t know what a jade plant is, velvet. Can you take a picture of one for us? I`m a plant nut too. All my garden is made from stolen and given currings and seeds. I don`t buy the plants as I feel that msking my own "babies" is part of the fun. I`m preparing the vegetable plot for my winter crop now. The space is small, but I don`t need much. The chrisantamus are in bloom now. They were all from cuttings too.

I will take a picture and post it. I love the way you get your plants. If I buy one it will die. I remember the days when my mom, my sisters and I would share clippings. We would send them in the mail to each other. It was so much fun. I don't have a big area but once I get moved things will change. My youngest son is putting in a big garden and he said I could plant any vegetables I want. Plus he will be working with me on a greenhouse.

I have always loved the idea of a greenhouse although I don`t really need it. I use a transparent plastic to cover my lettuce in winter and I don`t need more: our winters are very mild.

I love plants and had a few in our backyard. Back in my hometown, we have more pretty plants around the house, because we have a bigger space. My sister's roses have big flowers that I love so much, but sad that I can't plant those roses here in the city where I live due to this hot climate that we have here compared to my hometown. I got curious about this jade plant my dear, got to check the net for this

I think plants are healthy and add beauty to places. Maybe you could get a minature rose bush and keep it in the house. I have known people to do that. Let me know what you think of the jade plant.

Hi ! I am not so familiar with those plants but all i know is planting is a therapeutic activity. It brings us to a happy mood seeing how beautiful our plants are growing. it made us forget all our anxieties and instead dwell on how to make more grow fast , healthy and beautiful. Planting is a good diversional activity , and it makes us more healthier because all our physical features are being used while planting and more values being developed in us while planting such as the value of patience and hardwork.

Everything that you have said is so true. Right now I am transplanting my little grapefruit trees. I am so happy that they lived. I put music on around my plants and they seem to like it. I know that I do. I am trying to keep busy with little projects like this.
