Starring James Purefroy as Solomon, he's one of the reasons i actually watched this little film.. and it was a good film about that time- similar to the setting of Black Death and Season of the Witch. It was about a killer, Solomon who lived a sinful life after he left his kingdom- and wanting to redeem his soul, he promised to save Meredith(Rachel Hurd-Wood), daughter of the family who saved him. it would have been much better if they had a better budget and a better story.. But it was good enough to watch since the acting was good too. A story about faith and God, plague, witches, and just lots of sword-fighting.

Yes its a good movie, it started well actually ,the story is promising. However i am bit confused about the theme of the movie and story-line.Solomon uses non violent means and try to explain things calmly to people who are no less than monsters. Then ultimately he has to go back to his violent ways. What i felt was that if Solomon used his skills of fighting earlier instead of persuading murderers about not killing people ,he would have saved lots of lives. The action scenes are good in the movie though ,quite entertaining. You are so right about better budget and better story, but what i feel is that makers of this movie had most of their attention on action sequences and they were least bothered other things.James Purefroy did a good job though, appreciation for him.Best wishes.

I have seen that too and it was a good movie. What I admired most was the director his taste was so good on selecting the characters to play the role.

Yes, i think the one who was appointed to do the casting made a good choice indeed. I think the main actor James Purefroy did the character well- he even read all of the comics before playing the role.
