These cereal companies are so crooked. I even fell for this one. I bought my son a huge box of kelloggs frosted flakes yesterday. Because the box said it had a small cute beet in it. He loves little bears. The box cost like 4.44 cents. So I bought him 2. Boxes showed diff. colored bears on them. A red and a blue one. Got them home, my son opened the box. Took the first bear out. Was so tiny, didnt even look like a bear. I said og well. you like the cereal anyway. I looked at recpt. to see charge, I was charged 5.88... even thought was marked 4.44. And on top of that. 2 weeks ago I paid just 3.39 OMg I got the shaft..... and didnt get the bear I wanted.

I would have went back to the store and asked them to refund the over payment but then this is Mexico and they don't seam to care to much abut any thing but them self you cant even get help to find anything in the stores around where I live as for they prize in the box it is not like the old days that they gave to you something that you can see with out the use of something to make it larger as least you have learned

You have to be so careful of these offers, especially when you only have a picture of the offer with nothing to tell it's size or quality. In these hard times everybody is trying to maximise their sales and will stop at nothing to reach their targets. There should be laws against it, but usually the politicians are the share holders of the companies.

That was sure an expensive mistake my friend, if you are sure they were 4.44 can you not take them back with the receipt and tell them you were clearly overcharged? I have been caught out by this before, it's clever marketing skills to get you to buy their product by offering a wonderful free gift, but you end up paying for the free gift in the long run.

Yes, they got me. Plus they say the toys are free. But really they are not. Shame on them. And shame on me !!!

Cereal is so expensive. There are lots of "healthier" cereals that I would like to buy as opposed to the cheaper ones, but it seems that in the store they are up to $4.00 if not $5.00, and then the boxes are often smaller than the cheaper ones. ;P

The ones from the usa sure are here. Like 4.00-5.00 and not even the biggest boxes.

Times are hard and every business is trying to get a bigger piece of the pie. Believe me, it doesn't happen with cereal companies where in fact almost every thing like bottled sodas, coke and even milk tea where they have 25% more with a 3 Apple iPad to be won. Mobile phone top ups comes with various seasonal top prizes of a holiday package for 2 to some exotic domestic destinations. Supermarkets are conducting cash back lucky draws or free smartphones. It is getting real crazy and it will continue with more to come. Just don't get yourself swept off your feet.

The toys are never worth much. You learned not to buy the food product just for the toy if you don't like the food.

Cereal companies can be big ripoffs! I don't normally buy brand name cereal unless there is a good sale and I have coupons to match. Right now my kids are too young to be too picky about it. I am sure after they get older it will be a different matter all together.

They sure seem to be here. They also never really seem to go on sale here. Always about the same prices all the time. Take care there.

Well that is typical corporate behavior, I hate what they do. First of all they charge too much, second they add so much chemicals into food a lot of which is toxic. And than they organize "special offers" that really "please you"...

Very true, then the store cheats you out of the price. We lose all the way around. have a great sat. there.

Sometimes it's called dishonesty other times it's called marketing. Depends on which side you're standing. I'd be miffed if I were you. I used to catch the overcharge stuff at the checkout. Before I was juggling children and working all the time I could add up my grocery bill in my head before going to the checkout. They were wrong more often than I was comfortable with. Usually nickels and dimes but still I don't remember the mistakes ever working out in my favor.

I was wondering how many other times this has happened to me ( over charged) and I didnt catch it. Have a great day there.

The best strategy to attract customer is to target children. Well, one thing I need to do when buying food item, never buy foods with free items, on a promo especially those on a buy one take one offers because most of the time, food items which are near expiry are the one subject to these promos. You can always contact the manufacturer of the product to give your feedback. And for the bear, maybe those are newborn bears so you still have to take good care of them so that they may grow up someday, he he. Have a great day!

Sure is, like they put all those candies right the cash out line. Where we stand. And kids tell us 50 x they want one. So we buy them one.

Hi, Some companies attract children so that their parents buy them for their children's happiness. But they cheat us and try to get money on their products. We can find many companies who are cheating us daily for earning more money. It is very unfair. Your child must be disappointed by seeing that tiny bear.

I feel bad for you but you can't do much about it now. Whenever I come across the product with a lower price, I would first checked with the cashier and ascertained it before I pay . I would let her know if it is not "this price" that was stated in promotion price sticker on shelf, I would not want the item .

hi maria yes they really are as the toys they promise are so tiny they seem worthless even to the child, thats so disappointing then too the cost of the cereals with the toys varies all over the place. Yep I also feel its crooked. The young person expects real toys of more appropriate size and gets ripped off then the mom also gets ripped off as they charge more for the boxes with toys in them.

Well, I sure did. The bear was like the size of a 50 cent piece. Very small. Take care there. Hope all is well there.
