In my view keeping those fishes in aquarium is like a jail which is really a very bad thing we should never keep them in aquarium because fishes to have parents they maybe worrying about them and i know this because i saw a movie named ''Finding Nemo'' in which father pain is what they have showed in that movie i recommend all of you to watch that movie and understand the pain.

We have an aquarium at home. It was my sister who wants one. My sister's boyfriend gave her a fishbowl and a goldfish. After a few days, the bowl broke and the poor fish was put in a plastic container for a while. My parents bought a bigger tank and now we have more fishes. Since we already have a tank, I don't see anything wrong as long as I'm keeping the fishes happy by feeding them, cleaning the tank and changing water every now and then. They are relaxing to watch and it fun to see them try to poke at my finger whenever I dip my fingers in the water.

I thought to pet a piranha but changed my mind. I don't know if you eat your pet or other fishes, but I am not doing this even when I don't have any aquarium.

I see nothing wrong with having an aquarium. My husband & I have had one for years. They are our pets & we consider even our fish to be apart of our family. It's not like they are in a small tank either. We have a huge tank so there is plenty of room for them to swim & be happy.

I have an aquarium at home. I think it is good to have it since your home will be lovely. And it will not be so dry. Besides, it is really a pleasure to see the fish swimming around happily in the aquarium. I heard that it can even avoid you having the heart attack and it is also helpful for the blood pressure problems. As to the movie Finding Nemo, actually the fish will leave parents after they were born.

well i guess in real life fishes doesn't mind being in an aquarium.. but they should be well taken care of because they also have lives just like any other pets.. we used to have an aquarium and personally i love having one because it is so relaxing and calming to watched.. but now we have lots of children in our house and they are too naughty so we decided to give away our aquarium to avoid any unwanted situation..

I personally do not want to keep pets because of the effort needed to care well for them. Having a pet means being responsible for a life, I am not confident I can do this well.

Finding Nemo was a cartoon, it wasn't real. I don't think fish have the same emotions as humans do.. but I'm no marine biologist so I wouldn't know forsure.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an aquarium in your home. I have three. It all depends on how willing you are to be responsible for them. In some ways, having fish can be more demanding than having dogs or cats. But they can also be a lot of fun and a joy to have. I didn't see Finding Nemo but movies are hardly a fount of information at least not when it comes to the facts and the truth. In otherwords, watch it for the entertainment value not for truths or facts about life. FACT: no animal or other living organism, excluding man, has the ability to experience emotions or to reason. Man is the only one of God's "living" creations that has the capacity to experience and exhibit emotions as well as reason, or in other words, accumulate data of various sorts and form conclusions, judgments, or inferences. All animals "operate" solely from instinct, impulses or inclinations programmed into them by nature. Also, like domestic cats or dogs or other pets, aquarium fish are bred for the purpose of being kept as pets and are better suited for life in an artificial environment. Like most all pets and other domesticated animals if aquarium fish were to be released into the "wild" they probably wouldn't survive very long.

I have watched Nemo about 30 times in my adult life! And even though it was because I had to endure it, the movie is funny and yes I see the perspective of a caged fish.(fantastically hilariously portrayed in the movie by the way)Although I do think an indoor aquarium can promote one's well being. It creates a responsibility as well as can be fun to treat your fish like a pet and play with it or watch it play inside little caverns and huts you put in the water. Beta fish are very mesmerizing in water and watching them float gracefully can lower one's blood pressure temporarily, most pets do!
