My daughter only finished half of her dinner and said she was not hungry for the rest. She went into her room and I thought she was watching a movie. It was a little too quiet in here, so I went to check on her to find her passed out on her bed with the light off. She was covered up with a thick blanket and sweating like crazy. I tried to wake her up to see if she was feeling sick, but I couldn't get her to keep her eyes open long enough to listen to me. When you child is not feeling well do you have a hard time waking them up? Do you just let them sleep the night away or wake them up so they can sleep at bedtime? It is still 2 1/2 hours till her bedtime.

If my kids fall asleep I let them sleep! Whether they're just tired or not feeling well.. they need the sleep and I need the quiet.

I am just afraid she will not be able to sleep through the night. She did wake up an hour early this morning though.

And with the weather getting nicer she was probably outdoors getting more fresh air and exercise than she's used to.. she's pooped! I would be too!

She was feeling fine this morning. She will be home from school in a few minutes, so I will see if she is still feeling ok. It is my birthday and I am hoping to take the kids out to dinner with me.

There is a strong possibility that she may be getting sick. I would let her sleep but check on her to see how she is doing. Also that she did not finish her food could be a sign of sickness. I do hope not. I would let her sleep and hope that she will be all right in the morning

She said her tummy was hurting and that is why she laid down. After I posted she woke up. She was tired still this morning, but she is feeling fine. With this crazy weather I am sure sickness is only inevitable. 80's one day, 50's and rainy the next.

If I am really tired I would like to sleep long enough without anyone disturb me. But for your daughter, how old is she? If she is at the age that already can judge whether she is sick or not, then let her sleep. But if she is very young, even can't tell that she feels bad, then I think you should take her temperature to make sure that she is okay. Hope she will be better after the sleep.

Our kids needs still our care to pamper them even they are already grow up, i let my kids sleep and wake them up if it is time to eat or if i see them not feeling well, i seek first my child's pediatrician to ensure they are okay or something that won't make me bother next time that happen it again. thanks for sharing lilybug!

She is fine this morning. She is only 6, so I am surprised she didn't tell me she was not feeling well.

For me, don't bother waking her up, let her sleep more. She needs it. When I am not feeling well, My mother only wakes me up when its time for eating rather than that, she lets me sleep as long as I can.

When my kids were sick like that I would just let them sleep. I felt that they needed the sleep to get better. You don't say how old she is, I'm just surprised she didn't tell you she wasn't feeling good. If she is that sick that she didn't want to finish eating she will probably sleep the whole night through. All though it would be good if she took some medicine before she slept through the night. I hope she is feeling better by the morning. Good Luck!

She is 6. She woke up a little while after I posted this and said her tummy hurt. She ended up going back to bed at the normal time and woke up tired still this morning.

good day to you lilybug, as per my experienced, my mom doesn't bother to wake me up whenever i get into bed. and i guess, that is her style because i never remember her going inside my room to asked me how i feel. and i used get to it so its fine with me.

When i see my daughter sleeps even if it's not yet sleeping time, i let her. We know very well, that when one is so sleepy, she cannot fight it but would just want to sleep.

If she was that hard to wake she probably needs the sleep. When my kids are not feeling well they can take several naps and still sleep through the night, it takes a lot out of them when their not feeling well. So I don't wake them, especially when their not feeling good.
