What's the gadget on Blogger!

Just starting my blogs up again..can anyone tell me what the deal is with that Google 1+ feature on Blogger? And also...which feature do you use to have that followers gadget where your blog is followed via blogger and facebook? Trying to get followers!

My daughter just used them on her blog and it uploads the connection to all the social media sites....she was having some difficulty uploading the connections she wanted until she found the gadget then it automatically uploaded them for her!
