http://variety.com/2013/digital/news/abc-sued-for-killing-off-soap-characters-1200386312 ABC is fighting with OLTL about the characters it brought to town. Good grief...why didn't they put this much effort into keeping the shows alive on ABC!!!

Oh, please! It's not like they can't bring them back to life, they do it any other time. They are making way too big a deal over this. If they fail it's going to be by their own merit, not because ABC is sabotaging them. They just want someone to blame if their plans fail. So what if one of the executives wanted it to fail. They really have no control of that. The fans are what is going to see it either succeed or fail. It's up to them to keep the fans interested. They just want someone to blame in case it does fail.

Aren't they tho! Like any of US care one way or another! You'd think it was real life or something! I am not watching the other two if they come back on internet anyway...

I fail to see how them failing is ABC's fault. They seem to think it will be the end of the world that they have to write around what GH did, because you know it's not like they've never had to write coming back to life stories for other characters, no this one could ruin them! What a load of crap. I mean this is a soap not reality they can bring whoever they want back to life, heck I don't doubt they could bring back Tea's baby if the wanted to. That one may take more writing, but I'm sure they could be creative. Plus it's not like they couldn't ignore a storyline either, they do that all the time too. It could just be what happens in Port Charles stays in Port Charles thing lol. I mean there are so many ways they could fix whatever it is they feel the need to blame on ABC. I think they should just suck it up and take whatever comes their way as their own doing. Good or bad. They need to rely on their writers however good or bad to either make them sink or float. If they fail it wont be ABC's or GH's fault it will be their own fault. No one else gets a scapegoat why should they? GH had to take the blame for their own failing so can OLTL. GH just got with the program and fixed their problems.

I totally agree...and for Tea's baby...since Victor is still alive, albeit in Allison's "custody"...all they have to do is have him escape or be rescued and they reunite and have another one! And yeah, what stays in PC stays there. John goes back to Llanview and try to reclaim his son..at least part custody..be the Police Chief t here...since they fired Bo...and Starr...goes home and headlines at Mommy's club. And this time next year...Cole and Hope appear...but don't know who they are and have a story line all about that. There you go OLTL writers...you have the solution! I think that if the viewers don't "come back" it isn't cause of the storylines or the characters or the actors...it is because it is online and not TV..or since they have been gone, people have just filled that time slot with other things and life moved on! I know I won't watch if they are on internet and if they come back to TV..good chance I wont' watch there either. I quilt now...so that time is my time! Now, if they replay them on SoapNet, I might pick them back up to watch at night but other than that... I won't pick them up again

Prospect Park is suing ABC. I kind of don't blame them, but on the other side I think this will hurt General Hopsital.

When GH took the OLTL characters everyone thought OLTL was a no go. So GH felt free to kill off Cole and Cole and Starr's daughter on General Hospital. Not only that, they don't want to give back the characters of Starr, Todd, and John. Well, Prospect Park has the rights to all of those characters. Every single one. They paid for them. So when they decided to bring back OLTL, they had the right to take all those characters back. And GH didn't want to. So Prospect Park is suing ABC and saying they are trying to make OLTL fail. Prospect Park is in the right. It's just that viewers want what they want and don't care about legalities. I mean we just want escapism.

I know...in words they are in the right, but why did the actors agree to go over to GH? Don't they have something saying loyalties to OLTL for that specific character or something like that? Or need permission from their contract carrier to be able to take their character with them...something like that. I can't see why Prospect wants them back, but if their contracts were done or cancelled, the actors can go where they please. They just can't take that character they played with them...I dont' know why GH did that...Okay athe vampire one was alot of fun, but why didn't they just take the actor and create a new character on GH for each of them. I could have done without Todd. Starr could have been someone Michael met at school or something and JOhn...the PCPD needed a commissioner that was at t he office every day, so they could have had him come in to replace Anna or Lucky or something. I don't see why they had to bring those specific characters to GH anyway.

But what I dont' get is...how'd they get those three in the first place? I am sure GH didn't just say, "hey you three guys...come on over here and we'll just pick up where OLTL left off". I am sure they know better than that. And besides...SO WHAT? Go back to OLTL...who'd it harm to be on GH for a few months! Or to go back to OLTL now? GH was fine before this and I am sure will be fine after. WIth their celebraion of 50 years this year going on, I am sure viewers will forget all about those three! Life has gone on with less!

Instead of suing they should just bring Cole and Hope back to life like someone said. It isn't like they were still playing a major role anyway. Cole had been gone for a long time up until the near the end of the OLTL run on ABC and then was brought back with a different actor who was just not very good. As far as Delgado goes, just a small amount of writing finesse could solve that problem. If the show being put on by Prospect Park is going to be that lacking in imagination and the usual twists and turns and bringing people back to life and rewriting the history of people, then they don't stand much of a chance at success anyway.
