So I have a broadband connection which worked fine on all my devices. But recently something weird happened. It is not at all working on my mobile but it is partially working on my laptop. Let me explain partially- So internet is not working on google crome or internet explorer or any other browser but I am able to skype and open game ranger. And the weirdest part I have a sony viao laptop and it has a direct web option , the internet is working on it too. What is the problem is it the router or the computer or something with the settings. And my neighbours wifi is working just fine on my laptop.

I think there's something wrong with the setting of the wifi connection. The best suggestion I can give you is to contact your Internet Service Provider, tell them about your problem and they will guide you step by step on setting back the wifi configuration. Each wifi model has different configuration. If after configure the wifi setting the problem still exist, then probably the wifi got problem. Borrow someone else wifi modem to check. Another possibility is your mobile phone and laptop internet connection setting maybe changed without your notice. Usually the Internet Service Provider support will help you to check on the internet setting of your mobile phone or laptop if you call them.

Most Internet Service Providers cannot help with the wifi settings. You actually need to contact the manufacturer of your "wifi modem" or router.

In my country, we just need to call the ISP to fix our internet/wifi setting. They will ask our router modem type and they will ask us to enter ip address number in the navigation navigation toolbar and then they will guide us step by step. I'm from Malaysia, maybe different country has different practice. Suppose, the ISP should know how each router modem setting cause the setting done on their site (the ip address link is the ISP setting site and not the modem manufacturer site).

First of all, I think you need to check if your wireless broadband access is being used by other non authorized users i.e. your neighbors. This usually happens when you do not set passwords for wireless connection to your router thus allowing others to "piggy back" on your account. Usually, there would be no issue if their access is just surfing and emails but when it comes to massive activities like downloading and games then you should be very concern. Especially downloading where ISP are known to be working with Licensing and Copyright agencies to catch these illegal netizens. If you have properly set up your wireless access then you may want to check if ALL your neighbors are having WiFi and in close proximity to your house. If you are then you might want to check if all of them are using the same channel of the router. If your router is set to AUTO, then normally it will be on CH6 and you can imagine when all your neighbors are using the same channel. To check how busy your surrounding is you can install an app on your smart phone "WiFi Analyzer" which will scan your surrounding and tell you what channel settings your neighbors are using. From there I believe you can set your router channel apart from theirs. I do not know what router make you are using but I find most of them the same where you will need to reboot every once a week and more often if you use it heavily. What you do is simply switch it off for a few seconds and turn it back on. I usually find this helpful. As for your workstations and laptops or tablets, I think it will be good to install an optimization suite software which allows you to optimize the system to work faster. It includes making your internet connection go faster.

This is a really low possibly but you could have a WiFi bound virus. Since viruses really can not go one phones or tablets it goes through the WiFi. It sends all the virus files to your router then when you try to get on the internet it will infect it and send the files and not let you get into the internet. That is my only discussion. Try to find the ip. Go to start and type cmd. Their should be a black box with a command prompt. In the black box type ipconfig info. You should have about 4 - 6 address's use the ip4 one. Then type that in your browser. Even with the internet you should be able to access that. If you need to the default password and username is admin. Then you can look all about what is going with your internet.
