Good day Fellow Mylotters, Just a quick one, as I am really confused and surprised about the response that I have received. The story goes like this. When, I was still working as an Admin Staff, I used to do a Petty Cash Replenishment Report. As I need to do it weekly to monitor if I have still enough petty cash in the cash box. One day, the President asked some money out from the Petty Cash as some things needed to be bought and funded. So, I suddenly give him the requested amount. Until, after a couple of days, that I needed to do some replenishment. So, I politely asked the President of the Home Owners about the cash advance that he did. Asking politely if he has the receipts so I can do the proper liquidation and include that in my replenishment plus I need to do a Petty Cash Report. To my surprise, he had given a response like this, telling me, not to ask him again about money matters. Plus, he told me this lines, "there is no need to asked me about it, I will not take, steal and runaway the money". Honestly, I didn't mean anything on my question, I just want to know if the receipts are ready so I can make the necessary reports since I need to submit a Petty Cash Report on the Treasurer for another replenishment. If you were on my shoe, would you also be surprise about the response that he told you...as I can't really take his answers. Thinking, why there is a need for him to answer in that way...

I think he is overreacting.I know that you meant well but I guess his interpretation isn't.He may have panic or became worried that you think he was doing something bad even though in reality, you're not really.

I guess he was so rude in answering your question about that money matters. Even if he is the President, he must observe proper treatment with you as his employee. For him to get respect from his employee he should do the same to have a good working environment for all of you.

indeed. what he have done is rude and it was surprisingly to hear that. it looks like, something is fishy, the way he answer my query is like covering an issue that he does not want to be discover.

He just misinterpreted your request or might be having really a narrow mind. Some people have a very very high ego that things are being misinterpreted . Actually many people who are like them , shall we forgive them anyways we know our intention , we know ourself and even our officemates know what is the truth and right .

he sounds arrogant and defensive. you didn't say anything about him using the money for other purposes. he knows that what you were asking him is the usual procedure so what he said out of line. however, if you made him sign something when he got the money, then even without the receipts, you were no longer liable for that amount.
