I don't promise it works all the time but it seems today, my sickness drained unbelievably fast just soon after taking paracetamol with coke. Does it have the same effect for you when you tried it? Others who tried said it intensified their headache.

I am not sure if coke could really help with our headache. But I do know that the caffeine in coke could somehow contribute for that headache.

I'm not able to sleep much due to the caffeine. The next day my fever was so high. I took ibuprofen and bioflu, without coke this time. It took less than five hours for me to heal.

It is much better to take lots of water when you have fever to help decrease your temperature. And paracetamols should be taken every 4 hours until it completely goes away.

It works. Well any carbonated drink will do. Paracetamol is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti inflammatory rolled in one. So it helps in pain, headache, fever, infection pain. Carbonated drinks help after a heavy meal by decreasing pH of stomach. So in part helps in indigestion. But headache is never increased after paracetamol. The only reason is if the headache is due to acidity/ acid peptic disorder/ reflux, then only coke seems to aggravate it because it causes acidity. Paracetamol as an analgesic/painkiller also increases acidity of stomach. So yes it works, but it is horrible for acidity headaches.

I just read from an article that caffeine combined with paracetamol can harm the liver. It's my first time to know that. Well, I don't have a headache which means I'm clear to drink coke.

I'm fine with plain water when i pop a paracetamol tablet. The relief i get is faster if i sleep after taking it. I think the caffeine in coke is the reason why others felt their headaches intensify.

I wouldn't have to do it if my cold tanked but it persisted. I feel better now and did not regret it.

I never knew that paracetamol and coke works to depress your headache. I don't know the extent of truth in this as I have never tried it. I have also read up in this discussion that it isn't advisable to use but together as they help increase acidity in the stomach.

Hi ! I did that sometimes , i take paracetamol not with water but with coke and the effect after few minutes is good . Headache gone and coke refreshes hot feeling inside. What others say is just purely a hearsay , no scientific bases.

It's well known that caffeine enhances the effect of certain analgesics. Paracetamol (tylenol or acetaminophen) is often combined with caffeine to give a stronger effect. This is, doubtless, why taking coke helped your pain. Coffee (and tea) have a similar effect in combination with paracetamol. The only reason that it may not work all the time is that we often treat pain with an inappropriate analgesic, for example, aspirin or ibuprofen are better for pain which involves inflammation.
