You might be wondering why I am still thankful for having a power interruption. Well, here goes the reason... I was so busy preparing the reports that I need to submit to our provincial office when all of a sudden, the air conditioning unit in our office suddenly went off. So I told our staff to unplug it as it might be damaged again when the power resume. That was it, the power did not dare coming back, he he. Glad that I was able to upload the report needed. It was only eleven o' clock. I decided to take my lunch earlier. Just then my boss came in and told me to send another report. But realizing that there is no power, he told me to go home already that I might be able to send the report in our place where there might be power. So, I immediately packed my things and went home. Upon reaching our place, I enter a certain computer shop to scan and send the document through email (I don't have scanner at home). My daughter was so happy to see me coming home earlier than usual and asked me if we could cook pan cake. So I started preparing the utensils while she prepared the ingredients. After we are done cooking, we ate the pancakes together and have a long conversation about her activities today. This is a great day after all! Most of the time, blessings come in various disguises. Have a great day everyone!

Sometimes these things happen for a reason, we may not think so at the time, and we may regard them as inconveniences, but in time when we look back we realize that yes, although that happened, look what I achieved instead! You were able to spend quality time with your daughter. I guess it's taking a negative situation and turning it into a positive one!

Just glad that there are times that I can come home early to be with my family. They used to see me coming home after 5 because as I've mentioned that I need to travel for several hours. Thanks for the response wolfie, how are you today?

I really believe that all the things that happen in life have its reasons for example when I stumble over our office staircase, many clients seen me and my boss run me to the hospital . Thank God I am just fine but it was discovered that my cancer cells are active after giving birth, the hormones continue to produces so, I got an immediate treatment. So, that's really a blessing in disguise though it is so embarrassing.

There are many instances when something unexpected happens to let us discover new things...more important things. Glad to know you're okay. Thank you for sharing!

Your might have thought of buying a portable power engine to be used when electricity cut off happens again. Most of the time in my city, brownout only last 30 to 45 minutes then the power comes back on again. I can understand how you got happy as you could go back home earlier. I think others would have felt the same. Scanners now come with printers. You can buy one with scanner functionality as well.

Well, we have a generator set at work but since there is no especial event on that day and there are nothing to be rushed about, they don't put it on. About the printer, I am really planning to buy the one with a scanner but I still have my printer. I'll consider this things in the days to come. Thank you for sharing!

nice! brownouts can also make the kids have a break from using the pc and watching tv. its also my way to ask my nephews and nieces do the lawn. hahahaha. one time, i asked them to pull the grass and water the plants. kids had to go out and break away from all those gadgets. they complain though when i ask them to go out, but they have no choice. hehehe.

I think many of us who work mostly online can appreciate a break from work and other online activities during a blackout. Life does go without a computer or electricity. It's boring but we do need breaks sometimes.

For us who are workaholic, it does really help from time to time to let us have some rest. But I don't want it to happen always, he he. We need to work. Thank you for sharing!

That is indeed a great opportunity to spend more time with your daughter. When there is a black out here in our place and it happens during night time..me and my kids usually drive to park, or any place where we can spend some time- having fun and little time to bond. This is one of the benefit of having black out- some times

This is a clear indication that everything that happens has a good reason. I know I am guilty of not having enough time because of my present work schedule as well as having to work online. So I'm really looking forward to times like this. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day for you and your family as well.

I consider it a blessing when myLot plays truant. That is the only time I can go about doing chores that have been kept pending all because of my myLot addiction - truly a blessing in disguise. May there be more power outages for you! Are you sure?

That will be a big trouble in our home if I will stay most of the time in front of the computer. Just in moderation of everything will do. Hey, too much of anything is not good, he he. Thank you for sharing! Happy myLotting!

Hi Aries1973, That was indeed a blessing in disguise. Hope you have many more brownouts or blackouts in your office although your boss may not be so thrilled. In that way you and your daughter can have more quality time together! Have a nice day.

That would be fine with me to have this experience for at sometime just to break the everyday routine. Although having quality time for my family is really much appreciated. Thank you for sharing!

It's funny how reliant we are on electicity. I know the other day it went out here, I didn't know what to do so I just layed there.

Yeah, this is one of moment when I think that all happen in the perfect moment. While the seemingly negative situation is changed to the positive situation. We’ll look back to that moment and think, this can be achieved after this negative event. So thankful for whatever happen to us since everything does happen for a reason.

Yes, if we could only wish to have this thing to happen more often, he he. But anyway at least for some time I was able to spend quality time with her. The children are grow very fast and I'm not sure if the next day to two, she will not have time for me too because she already have her own set of friends that she would go out with or might be busy with other things also. Thank you for sharing!
