i cant believe people in these days, some people are really crazy about mobile phones and mobile phone fashion. i think mobiles must be for calling and communicating to the people,at least it was like that..but nowadays, many people think mobiles are fashion and they have to upgrade them immediately. but its getting crazy in these days. for example my friend has iphone4s then after iphone5 appears,he cant wait for changing his phone to iphone5 i think its too much,i bought a cheap mobile phone here in turkey ,and i wanna use it as long as possible.because we have other payments and life fees. how about you mylotter? do we always have to upgrade our mobile phones? do you have this feeling? how old is your mobile phone??

I do change or upgrade my mobile every 2 years because I am subscribed to a postpaid plan. Every time the holding period which is 24 or 30 months will end, they give me new phone and broadband kit/pocket wifi kit for free. It is has been many years since I lost bought a new mobile phone. I think the last one I bought was Nokia N70 but that was a long time ago. I just recently got a new phone and kit as loyalty perks so currently, my phone is just a few weeks old. I kind of like it because it is far better than my Samsung Galaxy Mini. It does not hang or lag everytime I would open files like photos or videos in my 8G micro SD card unlike what I have experienced with my previous phone. It can read my SD card without any problem so am really happy about it. Yes, I know some people who would really change their mobile phone everytime there's a new one out in the market. I think that there really are people who behave like that like those I knew who would buy the latest clothes that is out in the market. They are always updated to what is new and latest in the market, fashion, etc. Well, if that makes them happy I don't think I can't say anything about it since they are ones who spend for those purchases. I just hope that they can really afford that kind of lifestyle because I also know some people who would like to be always IN on what is new but will just borrow money to buy those latest gadgets. I think that living beyond what you can afford is not good.

Definitely the media which includes radios, televisions and newspapers have greatly contributed to this. And of course, credit cards are there to help them purchase those items in instant. In just one swipe, they've already bought those new gadgets or latest clothes in the market even if they have no plans of buying them or they are not included in their budget.

I have two mobile phone, one is 5 years old and the other one is 2 years old yet no plans to buy a new one. I only use my phone when I go outside my house or when my husband is not home as mode of communication. Also my husband has a new phone which I can borrow anytime so there's no reason for me to purchase upgraded phone.

I like having a pretty cellphone, but I don't change out my cellphone until I absolutely must. I had a phone for about 2 years, but it was in my Mom's name because it was a birthday present/going to college present. She got mad at me over my sister lying about me and cut off my phone service. Instead of trying to use the same phone to purchase a plan through the same company I decided to treat myself to a new phone through a cheaper company. I only had that phone for about a year. I was sick of it not long after I got it. It was a smartphone that was 100% touchscreen and it drove me nuts. I don't like touchscreen keyboards. But, I love texting and surfing the net with my phone. That first winter I couldn't even text with it at all, or call anyone because it sensed the heat in my fingertips to work. But, when my hands were cold all the time it would not pick up. I couldn't use a stylus either because it needed the heat. It went downhill from there and I was so upset that I didn't pick a phone with a keyboard. That July my boyfriend called me and told me I needed to come pick up my birthday present from him and I told him no, because my birthday was not till August and I wanted to look forward to it still. He was insistant, however so I went to pick it up and it was a brand new phone! It is touchscreen, but it has a slide out keyboard and I love it. I use it all the time. Cold fingers and it still works. The only way I'd change phones is if this one up and full on broke on me. I don't see that happening anytime soon. If I want to pretty it up I'll get a new case for it. I've had it a year and it's still being good for me.

Hi.. I bought a new phone, the latest model of samsung but i bought it because i need it and not for other reason like fashion..I never bought phone inmy entire life except this one.. I used to have a cellphone as gift from my sisters and brother... Instant upgrade of cellphone I think is now one of the vices already.. people who are rich or feeling rich are the ones who used to do such upgrade..Anyway for me it is okey if they have money for that why not...

i have a samsung galaxy S2 that i got for free last year bounded by a contract for two years. i pay 25 euros monthly and for this i get 300 minutes of calls to all networks (including landlines), 300 SMS, and unlimited internet access. i connect my mobile to my computer so i don't pay extra for my internet connection. i used to pay 20 euros for the the internet connection but with this plan, i saved money. i don't always upgrade my phone. the last one i had was a nokia 3G (i forgot the model). i used it for three years. the company was charging too much whenever i used the internet on that phone so when this offer came up last year, i grabbed it.

I am a person who will not often change mobile phones. As long as mine can work well, I don't want to buy a new one since I think it will be a waste. Currently the cellphone I use is from 2009. It still works well. I just bought a tablet last year since I need to use Android system because it has more new and nice apps. I don't give up my cellphone yet.

Mine is about a year old. But I rarely replace my mobile phone. Unless it is really broken and that repairing it would means paying an incredilous amount, then I buy myself a new one.

Hello I have recently sold my mobile phone and looking for new one too. he he.. even I am fan of new gadgets. But surely I don't go for them because of fashion. I do lots of works on mobile, specially all internet related. Well, these days we can do lots of things on mobile than just calling. But still yes no need to extra spend on the mobile phone. One should go for phone as per his own requirement and budget.

My cellphone was realized by the company about three years ago. I won't to replace or upgrade it, because it just to send text and call my friends and family, more than that I never use it. I prefer use my pc to connect with internet and make money online. I never think about fashion for my cellphone, I think it is not a good idea, I use cellphone for useful activities not for fashion.

I would say it depends on the phone you are using and also your lifestyle. I was using an old phone for 3 years before I finally changed to an iPhone 4S last year, which was my first smartphone. I have to say it made a big difference, for example all my friends no longer sms and instead use messaging programs like whatsapp so using iPhone allowed them to contact me this way. I can now watch videos as well while taking transport which makes quite a lot of difference. I am in no hurry to upgrade to a newer smartphone though.

I don't normally buy a new phone. I just wait for my dad to buy a new one and he'll just hand down his old mobile phone to me. So as long as he doesn't change his phone, I won't change mine :) But me new phone now is only months old because my dad upgraded to IPhone 5 so he gave me his old phone instead. But prior to that, I have my Blackberry for years, which I think is very convenient and useful, especially the BBM :)

I do not go after new gadgets such as phones. I owned a basic phone and it has been with me for more than five years and it is still functioning well

No, I am not. I just have a very cheap cellphone and I am not fond of changing its model as soon as the market is upgrading new model. I don't mind if there is new model already. I am already contented with my phone even it is already obsolete. The important thing is I still just have a communication with my loved ones.

My phone Nokia c1-01 is already 3 years old and my new phone nokia Lumia 510 is 2 weeks old. Every week or month phone companies produce new and high tech phones that catches people attentions. I am one of them that's why I bought a Lumia.
