The Black Sheep of the Family

She has the face of a goddess, a face that landed her on showbiz, and on many a man's love bed, including the rich one she is living in with now, for two decades, and with whom she bore a daughter, the only reason perhaps, that she still has her grips on the rich and the powerful. Other than that, she is forgettable, for I can't recall a movie, or a show, where her work as an artist, is she is one, can be credited. Now she is on the twitter tweeting, something like criticizing her own niece, or calling her names. Here's the news: http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/news/us-based-sister-gia-to-gretchen--leave-us-in-peace-043048392.html Oh well, I think there is one in every family, that dreaded black sheep.

I think there are two sides of the story. If Gretchen is a black sheep then, what Claudine is? I liked how her brother supports her of telling to their mother that she may already be forgotten how Gretchen worked in her younger years just to feed their family and I think how unthoughtful for their mother of not giving credits to Gretchen, just to saved the moral of the long lost no-career-no-husband Claudine.

Not worthy of my time, we have our own problems to deal with. the network likes to follow on these issues not only just to show the country they have problems but they are getting a great deal of ratings out of this. it's sad enough that claudene split up with raymart but i've heard rumors too that she's a let out girl. i won't have my time consumed in this.

I agree with you on this. There are two sides of the story. It seems that as the mother said , Claudine is on mental torture. It serves her right for having beaten that old man Tulfo before. But however your children are, a mother shouldn't bad mouth any of them in public, much more publicly side with one. She could have done the bashing by themselves , where no other non-relative can hear. Sad, that the Barretos are washing their dirty linens on public.

Same here. I would have thanked them if they just kept this issue to themselves. Even this erupted in the social networking site scene, there was no point in publishing a letter to newspaper and using the media as a tool in family communications. Anything with a public medium, for me, is asking for more publicity.

Hello eileenleyva, these people love the attention or probably the media love to see these family fought so that they can have their own story to their bosses. It's all the same with different families in the Philippines, but i wonder why should we bother anyways? we can do better than they did. . there's an election coming and I'm pretty much focus on what the candidate's platforms before i can cast my vote. have a nice day

Am not too upbeat when it comes to 13 May, I already know what my ballot would look like, there is not much of a brain wracking needed. The media is doing a good job on information dissemination, and the voting public had been educated, the days for the unworthy politicians are numbered. Showbiz mirror our lives, that is why we are interested in these celebrities. I feel for the parents who were hurt by the eldest child, as the other sibling, one whose face and name just joined the talk (I never heard of her before), claimed. Oh well...

I totally agree, and these people are attention seeker when there are more things to know, shame on their family that publicly having such arguments and not having settle things just within the family, it only reflects how their mother raise them and neglect to discipline them. On the other hand, I believe there's always a black sheep in the family maybe to balance things around or one can really can get away from the regular things from the family

There was a case, in the not so distant past, about Claudio Teehankee, Jr.. aon of Supreme Court Justice Claudio Teehankee. This son had s shooting spree one night, killed a sixteen year old girl called Maureen, out of cold blood. There was a blame made, on the mother, for failing to rear her son, the killer, properly. But the mother had other children, and they were all brought up well and decent and good.

yeah, that is true, there is probably always one at least in the family. I think it does not exists in ours though. he he Their family has become like this, for years they have all talked and worked their indifference in the public's eyes and they seemed to be the family that is always like this?! I mean why couldn't they just try to settle this issue away from the people to have opinions on and to put more unneccessary thoughts about a supposed private matter.

Irreconcilable differences. Tsk tsk, I think everyone in the family needs lessons in humility and kindness. Kudos to your family!

my mom always tell us not to throw dirty laundry in public. people will always have different take on the issue, as if they know you personally. I guess the best thing to do is to have a decent talk with the members of the family, after all nothing is more important than the love of a family. talking about black sheep in the family, hmm it just take me back to kris aquino. is there really a black sheep in every family?

The wisdom of the old. Of course, your mother is correct, never wash the dirty linen in public. People love good stories, but they shun the bad ones. Kris Aquino was a through and through black sheep, and now that she has reformed, she still is suffering the from the consequences of her actions.

Oh that would be actress Gretchen Barretto right? I find it odd that they are publicizing their arguments.I have learned that her niece Julia will be back in show bizness and I think this whole brouhaha is just a part of that comeback.Aren't they ashamed that they are the talk of the town?Specially Gretchen what is it that she likes? She has everything she wants in life. And what good will it make if she keeps on bashing and trash talking her sisters and other siblings?Their mother added extra spice to the controversy by giving her own speech to the problem. And as of the news that I have watched another boy sibling answered a tweet or an interview .This controversy will not end if they keep on answering it publicly. If they want this turmoil settled then tackle the issue privately.

Okay, you are getting on something there, like these celebrities really need the education, basically on good manners and right conduct. Except for the US-based sister, the siblings did not really put much weight on education, and kinda banked on their faces and their publicists, to work on their images and careers. Sigh.

she is like the bread winner of her family before and now she is the blacksheep. Fro what I hear, her little sister Claudine is Bipolar, those people needs understand and we have to treat them with tolerance and patience even if they get annoying. but it seemed like she didnt tolerate her sister's condition. This Family Drama might be a publicity stunt to launch the career of her Niece.

Oh yeah another celebrity family in feud. I do not know why this is becoming a trend for the past several months. Why could just they keep the quarrel within the confines of the family and keep on exposing themselves to the public. But I guess for the past several days I have not heard of anything from both parties, I guess they got tired of it and realized that it is a private matter and need not be discussed openly to the public anymore.

I saw these on the news and i realized how lucky i am to just normal, we may have problems but not as twisted as theirs somehow lol. But really when i hear news like this i don't know who is saying the truth as the other one says bad stuff and the other party would retort back, it is horrifying how they backlash their own family. and to think the younger generations like that of the daughter of Marjorie knows about these and hears stuff and eventually that hatred will be passed on. sad sad sad.

I feel and think the same way. Pity the young generation, the curse, they say, continues, if the old ones do not make reparation.

Yeah, there is always a black sheep in the family and in many cases, these black sheep behave like they are the white sheep while all the rest are bad. Tsk..tsk..too bad they don't even know they're it.

Let's hope for that realization, and subsequent reconciliation and forgiveness. These things come, in time.

I think the sisters are named Gretchen, Marjorie, Gia, and Claudine.

black sheep is not always present to the family it depends on the parents on how they discipline them

When the black sheep strays far, the parents, most often, cannot find that sheep concealed in black...
