Any good chat rooms?

Do anyone of you can tell me about some good chat rooms which are free and reliable. I have searched a lot and couldn't find any. I have obviously found some saying that it is free to register but later for chatting or sending messages they will charge for it. Then what's the point in saying it is free. Please someone help me.I need to chat with someone in my free time.

The reason that most chat rooms make a charge now is that the medium has been plagued by spammers and worse for a long time. Many IM providers have closed their chat rooms altogether. Others have responded by charging or making it far more difficult to find them.
The first thing to do is to decide what your interests are and, therefore, what kind of people you want to chat to. I found, for example, that the kind of people I wanted to chat to were people who frequented the interactive games I was interested in (at that time, I was into Scrabble-like word games and found quite a few friends on Yahoo! Literati, some of whom are still friends 10 years down the line!).

Free chat room? There are so many of them. One is miRc chat and Yahoo chat. They are both free.
