Lakers are put out of their misery!

San Antonio swept LA. They trailed the entire game. Dwight Howard got his butt ejected. What should management do with this team. I would not be surprised if D'Antoni is looking for work this summer. I not sure Dwight Howard as an unrestricted free agent should stick around. Kobe will heal but will he lose a step and not be the player he has been? I don't think this mix of players worked out very well. They shouldn't come back next year in the same form. What do you think should be done to fix the Lakers?

They need a new manager and new players.

Roster overhaul is the only way to fix some of the issues. I think management has to take some blame for this. They clearly didn't put a good mix of stars on the floor. Can't just blame the players for this one. Everyone is guilty.

You're right. I do not know that much about Basketball, but I know that if the coach or the manager is not on top of things, some of the players start slacking off and spoil it for the others.

I think Howard will stay in LA next season.Because LA is a big city with many intersting thing that attract him and LA will provide the biggest contract. He won't leave .Let's see it.

this shows that superstars do not make up a good team. when nash and howard joined the lakers this year, metta world peace declared that the bulls' record of 72-10 was in danger. but what happened that the lakers barely made it to the playoff. and now, it was kicked out of the playoff by the spurs. nash is only effective in certain game plan, but could not deliver in other plays. kobe was a beast in the regular season. howard was a see-saw player, never consistent. i think the lakers will be back with a new line-up next year.

I personally think they need a serious overhaul. Nash was definitely off with too many nagging injuries and same with Howard. Even with those two players healthy this team clearly lacked speed. That's something only a roster overhaul is going to fix. Good luck to them. I don't think this will be an easy task.

I was happy to see the Lakers get their butts kicked! I think that team needs an overhaul! There are to many ego's on this team! Howard is just playing just for the money! Kobe is an arrogant and selfish jerk. Steve Nash should retire and D'Antoni needs to find another job! Lsoing owner Jerry Buss to cancer did not help either! They need Phil back to coach or another coach like him! Kobe needs to shut up and just play! Howard needs an attitude adjustment if the Lakers plan to keep him around! It is nice to see this team fall off their pedestal! I would go into the Milwaukee Bucks problems but they are more messed up then the Lakers and it would take me all night to go through the their problems! I am embarressed to be a fan of theirs!

I won't argue that Kobe is selfish and arrogant but I don't think you can knock his effort. He gave his all this season and that's more than can be said for some of his teammates. Howard lost a lot of value in my eyes and likely the eyes of a lot of other basketball fans through the course of this season. I like Steve Nash and hope you are wrong. I'd like to see a couple more years out of him. I'm proud he's Canadian. Can't help it. Let's get real stupid and look forward to next year's semi final matchup between the Bucks and Raptors.

This has been the biggest surprise of the season, everyone thought this was a championship-winning team and it turned out a disaster. I think Kobe himself identified the problem, they need a younger team, they were simply too slow and tired to keep up with their opponents and when the losses mounted it demoralised the team, making it even harder to recover. Overhaul is definitely needed, even Kobe himself is doubtful with his age and injury. He may have been playing well this season but will be increasingly injury-prone at his age.

Kobe isn't stupid. I think he hit the nail on the head.
