I had a lovely Sunday.

Yesterday my daughter asked me to have my grandson for lunch. She wanted to do some talking with the children (not children anymore) of her partner. They are very rude and she decided that was it. So I made a nice lunch for Vicente and we went to my room to see a child`s DVD. That is, he saw it and I took a nap. Then, while he was playing with my computer after I taught him some games at which I`m addicted, I made baby pizzas for both of us. My daughter finally arrived late. When she called worried, I told her to take her time. We made more pizzas so that Vicente could go home ready for bed. He said he`d like to come for "dayy" with me Do you have some time for bonding with the little ones in your family? Tell us. Share.

What a great way to spend your Sunday. Unfortunately, I don't have any young ones around. They are teenagers now. Maybe some day I will be blessed with more grandchildren.

My eldest granddaughter is almost 23 years old and the youngest is not yet 3. But I`m afraid I`m parcial to Vicente: he is very sweet to me and he is not ashamed of telling me that e loves me.

That is great. My last MIL used to call my oldest a sissy when he would want to give her a hug and tell her that he loved her. I let her know that I taught him to show his feelings and not to be ashamed of them. Her son was way different than she was.

i don't have a baby.but i can understand you.every time i go back to my parent's house, i can't wait to kiss my nephew's face. she is a little angel of our family. her funny words and innocent gestures always make us laugh heartily. where there is her, there will be full of happiness.

Children are a lot of fun. Yesterday I laughed a lot with Vicente. I would have been bored alone.

Hm, I need to get offa my duff and teach the kids to cook. They were gone this weekend though, and other than doing laundry and a little volunteer work, I was a totally lazy slug. Tony and I watched basketball and a Perry Mason marathon all weekend.

When my girls were about 12 and 10, I started the Saturday cooking lessons. We`d make a huge potato salad, a roast beef and a cake. THat had to last until Sunday. The kitchen was a total mess after that, but we had fun and both know how to cook. Needless to say, they did not clean. But I did not do much more than a tomato salad on Sunday and the leftovers from the Saturday mess.

That's very sweet, i know u both enjoyed your day. As u know my grandson & i are big buddies. He is such a sweetheart. His little sister & i have got to be big buddies to. I love them soooo much. I have an older gran daughter who will be 6 in may but don't get to see her that much & never have. I regret that sooo much but we just don't have the closeness that the other two & i have. It's not her fault it's the parents.

I know what you mean, Jo. I don`t have the same closeness with the sons of my eldest daughter. She only dumped the boys at my house when it suited her, but did not care about creating bonds. That`s the one who studied psychologiy. I tell her that she had to have thta as her profession as it didn`t come naturally in her (I say that only when I`m really mad, but I don`t regret it). Only now that her second child is 18, we have grown closer, in spite of my daughter.

That sounds like a sweet way to spend the day with your grandson. I don't yet have children. Of course, I have to get the boyfriend under the chuppah before that happens... I want to home school the children I am planning for us to adopt. Part of the reason is that I want to be able to actually spend time with our children. I want to be able to take them to the library and museums, spend the day baking with them, work on crafts projects with them, go on day trips to neighboring states, volunteer together as a family...

Nope, in our family we don't even know when someone ha a kid. My one cousin was telling me, that another one of our cousins was having a baby or had anyways. She sent out the invitations to the baby shower, nor did I even know she was pregnent, that she now had the kid a few weeks ago, then expects us to buy her a gift.

It is rare that we get to have that time all together. It is mostly just me and my youngest son. But we make sure that during special occasions, we are always together.
