Your Not Promised Tomorrow...

My sister and her husband have a room mate and he is having a really hard time these last couple weeks. His mother called him, he thought to himself that he would call her back later because he was busy cleaning. Then a little while later his brother called him to say their mother had just died of a heart attack! It was an hour after she called him that she died. I feel so bad for him, I am sure it is such a difficult thing losing a parent like that. And he is feeling really guilty for not answering her call now. I was just hoping whoever prays here that you would say a prayer for him and their family.

Oh gosh! That is so sad. I know he feels so horrible for not answering the phone. I don't know what I would do if I were in that situation. If my parents are calling me normally I will answer the phone no matter what I am doing or try to call them right back. Prayers for him and his family.

Yes my prayers for him and his family. I feel really sorry for him, he must be killing himself for not taking that phone call. Of course it was not his fault but I can understand that he is blaming himself. Hope he gets over it, no one could have known.

What a horrid twist of fate, and now all he's going to think about is, if only.. if only he took that call, I hope he manages to shake off the guilt. I know I would be devastated if I lost my mum, as far as I am concerned even though my father is still alive, she has always been my parent. She was 70 this year and hopefully will continue, but you just never know what life has in stall for us... I feel for the room mate, it's hard to know what to say to him, without the usual cliches, but he mustn't blame himself that is the important thing my friend.

Hi there LovingMyBabies! I am sorry to hear about what happened. I will definitely pray for their family. I have a similar experience although I did not actually know about the call. I was out with my husband, buying a crib for our baby. We arrived home late. I was not aware that my cousin called about an hour earlier and was looking for me. I just got awakened by a call from my uncle saying that my cousin was shot and he is in the hospital. I was shocked and my mother informed me that he called earlier that evening but they forgot to tell me. He was shot a few hours after he called me. It may be a question that will never be answered but I am still wondering what it was that he wanted to tell me. He was going through a lot that time when he got his girlfriend pregnant and being like an older sister to him, we were really close because we grew up together, and he always talk to me about his relationships. A few days before that, we were talking about the situation and I was giving him pieces of advice. I even told him to make sure that his girlfriend knows that he's there for her even though her parents would not allow him to see her. He tried so hard, he even cried while he was outside their house begging them to let him see her.

I'm really sorry to know that. I hope he can overcome this soon. Best wishes to him and his family. Yes, to our family, we can't always think that there is much time to talk to and contact. In fact, time is limited. We should change our attitude to our family members from now on and cherish what we have.

I wonder if she called him because she wasn't feeling well? As you probably already know, signs of a heart attack present differently (and vaguely) for women than they do for men.
