Does walking help stay fit?

I've read in many articles that just by walking, it can help you lose weight and stay fit. My dad and our family's friends started walking, jogging, riding the bicycle, playing badminton and volleyball since last month. I haven't been doing much of what they do and just do what I feel like doing. When I want to walk I walk and when I want to play badminton I do. I don't have a specific routine. Last night I just walked more than 2km before we went home. And I will do so again tonight. I hope I can stay focused on walking and maybe it will be a good exercise for my body which does nothing all day at home since I'm a bone marrow failure patient.

i do not know whether walking help us in any way or not.Though i am regular in my walking ROUTINE still I wish there would be something with which we could measure our daily walking benefits/ improvement.

My first motorbike like it love riding it, unfortunately it also help me gain weight about 78 kls of it hehehehehe. then the bike broke having no service for work i have no choose but to walk every day for the last 4 months, surprisingly I loss about 20 kls or so just by walking, so I will testify for that article.

Walking absolutely helps with your fitness level. The main thing about staying fit is to make sure you are doing some sort of physical exercise on a regular basis and it's ok to have some ice cream once in a while, remember that everything in moderation is your goal.Just be consistent with the exercise and remember anything is better than nothing.

It can help you loose weight as well as stay active. If you use your legs to get where you need to go instead of a car or bus you burn more calories for sure. My Mom was banned from her car due to not controlling her diabetes (long story) and she lost like 50lb from walking to the store that was 2miles away at most and such. Then when she stopped she put everything back on and then some.

Of course walking helps us a lot. walking is a exercise which helps to keep our metabolism balanced, helps us to loose weight.

I've always heard that walking is the best way to lose weight. My sister lost 100 lbs. just by walking. It's something I need to do more of myself.

It does. it is a good type of cardio exercise alongside with running, jogging, biking and swimming. Even going up and down the stairs instead of using the elevator is also good for the body. So it definitely helps one to stay fit :)

Walking is really helpful to lose weight but you need to do workout also. Exercise is also very necessary for lose weight so please do that also.
