About 6 months ago I found a little black kitty and I brought it with me home. It was a "she". She had a form of keratytis (her eyes were kind of opaque. So I took her mostly to take care of her eye condition with gentamicine (ocular antibiotic. We got home and everyone got really excited .........and my old cat got scared. She didn't sleep or eat for 3 days....she wouldn't get near the new kitty. I had to take measures..........and got rid of the new kitty (how sad!) because my older cat got laryngitis. Why Carla (my older cat)?.....you could of had a baby kitten sister? Did anyone had similar problems with introducing a new pet to your older pets?

maybe this animal instinct that the new cat is harmful and might hurt your old cat. sometimes they would feel like that. i guess it is normal, like us human we will not tagging along with strangers just and just. we are protecting ourselves from danger as well. so this is their way on how to protect theirselves not to get hurt by newly met cat as well :) try to let them get closer, and i guess as time goes on, each of them will feel relieve that they could get together :)

When I'm being really naive (I have my moments)looking back, I think maybe she was trying to protect us as well from the hypothetical danger:)

the new cat was smaller and sicker than my older cat.:)I guess size doesn't matter in the cat world. I am also intrigued about the little kitty (she didn't fear the big cat):)

When i was a kid, over 8 years ago. I had this hamster, a male hamster. So after a couple of months of having it i decide to get it a female to keep company and maybe make some babies too. So i go to the shop and get a female hamster and put her in the same cage together. After 1-3 months, they were fighting a lot. And the Female hamster literally Killed the Male hamster. I found little pieces of blood all over the cage. It was so sad Too much sad re... I never understood why it happened. Eh women. Cant live with them, cant live without them

cats are territorial and they were not comfortable with the presence of strangers and the other cats are seen as strangers and invaders by your cat. another thing, they were both female, so she saw the other cat as competition to your attention. Thats the way see it, I never really had an aggressive cat because my cats had always been friendly to each other.
