Spare me the Horror!

There have been many discussions about end of payment method by Mylot so i am not mentioning it here at all.Actually the money was just the encouragement, the great thing about this website which made it so different from others is quality of the discussion and extremely nice ,friendly and helping members.I posted in lot of discussion forums and there were few common things like 1)There are regular posters and then new posters, regular posters formed the group and very few of them would welcome any new poster, other dont care about whatever you are writing. 2)Hardly anyone would volunteer for help even if you post it like hundred times. 3)If you are a girl with attractive display picture, lot of people will reply you or try to help you or try to be friends, if you are not then no one will notice you at all. Now these factors are not here in Mylot at all, most of the times when you make a topic or respond to a post or ask for help, it happened that someone/many will reply. If you wrote an emotional post about your your personal life and experiences ,people will be there to help you out and cheer you up.This is the amazing and unique quality of Mylot, people taking out time for you ,to help and guide you when they dont even know your name and how you look like.Since i have joined Mylot i hardly sent anyone pm to personally connect with people by asking their names and other personal stuff because i thought that we can make friends and stay connected through our discussions.I am sure many members have the same approach. But with the new Mylot i fear that members like me who don't know people personally will struggle to get replies especially now when there are so many people wishing goodbye ,i fear that i might get lonely here. This is my fear though ,i may be wrong.Best wishes.

I am saddened by the news and I will try to stay as far as I can , if some people will decide to stay, even if there will be like 2 to 10 of us, I will stay and see what these changes can do. I use to be a member of a messageboard when i was 12 years old and that site doesnt pay members and I am still a member until now. so who knows maybe I can do what i did there here in mylot.

I will stay here and see how things go, but this is really going to hurt my income. I rely on this money so I can make earrings to sell online. I save my earnings so I can buy materials and now because they will no longer pay I am worried that my online business will go out of business before I start. What bothers me is why were we not told this before and had it sprung on us last minute? This is not the proper way to run a business.

Well i feel bad for you and all our friends here.Actually many members in the main discussion (about this announcement), mentioned that Mylot promised the changes will be for good. They have actually made the system here like that, to make people focus on earnings. From rating to quality responses everything is related to earnings.I agree with you, they suddenly dropped the bomb which no one expected.I will stay here too but this place will get very lonely soon in my opinion. Thanks a lot for your response.

It will be interesting to see just who sticks around after these major changes are made, I won't be leaving for good, however I am worried that I will lose contact with the wonderful friends that I have made over the years. I have seen Mylot as therapy and making great friends who we can share our lives with, support each other, care about each other, and advise, and I don't want that to change, but somehow I think it probably might. I know things can't stay the same forever and we have to embrace change no matter how hard it is.

I will more than likely be here too, but not as much as now. I have liked mylot and the concept of discussing since I started in 2009. Now, it has never been about the money, as it hasn't been all that much anyway, but to do away with it, when most are relying on it to help with their bills, is very disheartening. I come in here to have fun, and interact with others, and I have never worried about how much I was making or wasn't making. That is what mylot has been all about, and now it will be totally different this week. I will be anxious to see what it will be like, before i pass judgment on it, but I think that it will be cause for concern when a lot leave and never come back. That is what myolot has relied on all this time and now there won't be all that many here anymore, probably just a handful. That will be sad, but certainly understandable. All good things must come to an end, and we all have to accept that, and hope for the best. Take care, and have a very good day.

You have said it all and i completely agree with you.I will be staying here like yourself and will witness the changes.Like you mentioned correctly there are lots of people here for the money, the payment method encouraged people to post quality discussions and responses.People were concerned of their star rating and reputation as that had connection with the earnings too. These things made Mylot very different and better than other discussion forums even for people who are not here for the money.Even if handful of people remain here and support each other like before then it wont be that bad in my opinion.Best wishes and thanks a lot for your response.

Actually I think you made a valid point and I think we will see a complete change in all aspects of Mylot. It took some getting used to when I started on this site but I adapted and found how to use it. Many of us are in the same boat but I think you are right. It will be very very different and not just a face lift. It is a completely different life style.

I agree with you, actually it will eventually be like the other discussion forums, that "Unique" quality will be missing. It will be completely different like you mentioned. It would be very interesting to see how many will remain active here as we wont see activities like they are now.You see there are lots of posts in which people are declaring that these are their last few days. Thanks a lot for your response.

Yeah, I do find this an amazing site and just getting and adapting well here. However, this news come in as a shock to me. As I go through those responses and discussions, I am afraid many will leave and that really discourage me to stay as well. I really hope the changes should bring betterment to the members but indirectly it has discouraged one to be here...

If they had this idea in mind about discontinuing the earning program then they should bot have related everything to it.You see here you rate other users ,you get a reputation by earning a star ,then you get paid for your quality response. So they themselves made the system to make people focus on earnings so no wonder people are getting upset. Thanks a lot for your response.
