downloading music

Almost everybody have downloaded music to their computers and it's a controversial issue. It has it prons and cons. But my question here is Is downloading music helping music artists or harming them? Many people think downloading music is stealing, but I think it helps the artist get their music out and takes more people to their concerts. What do you think about?

It's doing more harm than good. Leave morality aside. As a rule, solo musicians have a band backup they need paying from the 9income made from sales/downloads. As with all stealing, the theif benefits, victims don't.
