What should I do with Peggy's stuff?

I'm talking about Peggy Fleming here, the Olympic gold medal figure skater from 1968. You see, there's kind of sort of somewhat a family connection. Barely. Let me tell you. I have this Aunt, Sylvia. She's really more like a big sister. She's 18 1/2 years younger than my mom, and only 6 1/2 years older than me. Anyway, she's been through a series of bad relationships and bad marriages, and is currently on marriage 4. She plans on making this one stick. My Aunt's husband (I know, I'm weird, I don't call him my uncle because they got married after I was grown up) is the son of Peggy's former step-father. Her mother married him after her first husband died. From what I hear, he wasn't a good guy, and the marriage ended in divorce. Jack and his brother didn't like Peggy much (snooty, so my aunt tells me). Not sure about her mother. Anyway, to get to the point, some of Peggy's things got left in his possession, and my "uncle" Jack got possession of them. Not sure what they all are, but apparently some of them are pretty personal, like a video of Peggy's son when he was little. My Aunt tried to contact her and let her know about the things to find out what she wanted to do with them, and never heard back. She wants to get rid of them, but she doesn't want to toss them in case they are wanted. I told her that she could give them to me, and I would try and find a way to either get them to her, or at least find out whether she wants them or not. So, y'all, asking partly tongue in cheek here, but if I do get possession of this famous person's possessions, and if I can't get hold of her, what should I do with them? What would you do? Toss them? Donate them to a museum? Sell them on e-bay? (evil grin) And why?

I didn't see this til now!! If going via FB doesn't work, maybe try the contacts via her website: If you can't get to her directly, maybe someone will be at least kind enough to pass along the message. I'd keep on trying!!!!

@dawnald Did she ever respond? It's crazy/scary what info one can find on the internet if you just snoop around. Hope you hear from someone!!

Being that it was once someone famous personals, after so much time they (the items) are up for grabs. By the way you described it, it seems that finders keepers rule. I would get it appraised and possibly auction those things off to a venue that likes historic sports memorbilia.

If she doesn't respond to me, I will probably either sell it or donate it (if any of it is of interest - I haven't actually seen it yet).

I think the one who is interested in the stuff should have it. This person will take good care of it. What might not be (longer) important to us can be important to others. If you can make money with it, why not.
