Is plasma donation a safe option for money making?

May 8, 2013 5:57am CST
I have recently come across this type of donation and have heard that one can be paid anything between $50-100( more if we hold a technical or doctorate degree). My question is that whether it is safe health wise? Aren't there chances of contracting diseases during or after the transfusion?

It depends of your country, that is not mentioned in your profile. In mine, and several other Europeans countries, it is absolutely forbidden for moral reasons to sell blood/plasma : you can only give it as a volunteer.

Yes I am aware of that. Even in Australia, they have a Human Tissue Act (1982) that forbids any kind of money transaction in lieu of blood, sperm or plasma donations. In my country there is not such a law to prohibit me from selling it.

@shiftmeup By the way, I cannot understand why it would be paid more if you have a doctorate degree. Blood has nothing to do with intelligence, and you are not necessarily smart when you have a doctorate degree -- look at me, if you doubt --.

Hi if your are in Usa,there is no probelm doing it I use to do it.in florida iwas getting close to $200-$100 a month for doing it.you get the blood part back so you can do it twice a week.if you have to be heathly to do it .they give you a exam to make sure you are helathly..and no you can not get any disease after doing it.number 1 is to make sure your protieen is up if it not they will not take you.make sure you have a good meal before you do it. i enjoy doing it.in Usa .the health dept does watch it.you do not need a degree to donate plasma..all the plasam go in to a bag like when you doante blood.
