Boston is a great city but it is expensive. Last year, I went back for my 50th high school reunion. It had been over 20 years since I had last been back.
I wrote an article for Yahoo Voices about Boston. It has tips and suggestions as to how to do Boston on a budget. I think that my article can be very helpful.
Boston is a great city but it is expensive. Here are some tips based on my personal experiences as to how to enjoy Boston even if you don't have a lot of money.

Most big cities are, but you can find budget places just outside of town, take transit in (some places), etc. Thanks for the info.

very nice article...I have been living in new england for about 14 years now, and have still yet to visit the city of boston (other than going straight to the airport by charter bus for a flight back home to the midwest, or one time on an amtrak train through south station...but those don't count as i never left the station/depots LOL) I really want to take a long weekend and explore the museums (fine art, and also particularly the museum of science) I will admit, being a small town girl, masting public transport like boston's "T" is at the top of my list of worries! I will make it there someday...but hopefully with a friend who knows their way around better than i do!

I am back on My Lot for a short time. Any place seem to be lots more expensive than it used to be. It must be hard to see Boston on a low budget. That article looks very helpful. I am about to revisit Prague and Krakow which I last went to in 1996. I know they will be more pricey with loads more tourists.
