Aargh - still no tv, internet or phone. Comcast last night told me they would send a tech out. Today I got a call saying that there was some issue with the city and needing a permit. wth? To restore a previously existing cable? Aargh....
Not aargh - so last night I got a phone call from Olympic figure skater Peggy Fleming's husband. He seems to be a real class act. He's going to send me a check (which I really don't need, postage is only like $8.50), but I'm not going to spit in his face and say no, as well as a personalized autographed picture or something, then he'll send me an address and I can send him the stuff. If he sends me anything resembling reward money, I'll split it with my aunt. Or I could just hold onto the check, not cash it, keep it for the signature, and screw him up balancing his bank acct. OK maybe not. lol
No word from my broker about the whole thing with the idiot buyers of my house who think they have a septic tank.
Other than that, baby kitty, my bottle baby, has teeth. yay! Means I can start her on solid food soon. Bottle feeding kittens is a pain!
How is your life?

Since I haven't read your previous posts, so I can't make head or tail of what you said about a personalized autographed picture. It is great you may feed your baby kitty on solid food.

Peggy Fleming, the Olympic gold medal figure skater, had a connection to my uncle Jack. jack's father Don was once married to her mother. My aunt Sylvia is married to Jack, and she found some things in his garage that once belonged to Peggy Fleming's parents. So I am going to return them to her, and she is going to send me something.

@changjiangzhibin89 Yes, I think so. There are family pictures, documents, letters, etc. I'm sure she will be very happy to have them back.

seriously....the cab;e company needs a PERMIT to come look at it??? i am thinking you need to go to a new provider.....hell, if you were to call up a satellite provider and explain the crap you have been thru....you might get free install and cheaper rates just to make you happy.......i seriously thought i had it up to my neck with the way time warner cable treats me? comcast and the service you have received (or more literally, NOT received) takes the cake..
that is so kewl you made contact with peggy's family....and it is totally respectable he wants to "re-imburse" you for shipping.....(also i laughed real good at the whole "just hold onto the check, not cash it, keep it for the signature, and screw him up balancing his bank acct" bit) glad you were able to get these items back to the people who should have them..
house buyers...no news is good news?
kittens? i

I don't know if the problem is with the cable company or the city at this point, seriously. At a minimum I am going to call when this is all over and ask for a bill credit. I had DirecTv before, and the kids liked it better, but it was more expensive than cable, and I hear satellite internet is really expensive. But the service was definitely better.
This kitteh needs a bath too. Her bottom isn't dirty, but when I got her back from Rachel on Monday, she had dried formula all over her front. I got some of it with a moist washcloth, but I really need to do a proper job.
The hold onto the check idea came from a gift certificate for a massage that my sister gave me. Apparently I am screwing up her account by not scheduling my appointment...

@dawnald My parents were paying about $60-70 a month for their satellite internet. The speeds were way slower than what you can get with cable or DSL, and they had a really low bandwidth limit. I think it was like 300 MB a day. Right before they switched to WiMAX, their connection was so bad that they couldn't even load pages on sites like the old Mylot.

As for your connections you have fallen in the hands of bureaucracy, because they say needing a permission. I understand your dissapointment. We have also bureaucracy, perhaps too much.
As for my life, at the moment I haven't difficulties with such events. I have problems with lousy shuttle service and with increasing of criminality in our city Lima.

I didn't realize you were in Peru. The transit here isn't so great either....
