Diagnosed with Schizoid Personality Disorder

So earlier today, I wen't to the psychiatrist for my second session and they diagnosed me with Schizoid Personality Disorder. I'm relieved it's nothing worse.
Is that normal? To feel that way when someone just told you, you have a problem?

to feel relieved that is it nothing worse? hell yes i would think that is normal. at least you a) have a diagnosis and b) don't have to worry what the problem MIGHT be. I know it is scary getting these kind of "diagnoses" thrown at you......but having a diagnoses is the first trip to a treatment plan!..........

i just don't believe every thing psychiatrist would say. i think that there is limit to their knowledge or understanding of what is really happening to people they talk to. that is why i would not want to ask for their help. anyway, i think good advice from other people is good enough to help me through.
