Well, the short version, haha... Day 1, wake up butt early, breakfast at the airport, fly to Hawaii via LA, get car, get lunch in Lahaina, get room, sleep, grocery shop and get dinner, sleep some more. Day 2, wake up for orientation and book tickets to Ulalena, eat in room, snorkel up at Napili bay, get sunburnt despite 100 proof sunscreen, come home and nap, eat dinner don't recall where. Day 3, be butt lazy, but eventually go into Lahaina for lunch, sightseeing, checking out shops. Check out the sunset from our beach, cook pasta for dinner. Day 4, get up not too late, head up Haleakala after a few wrong turns because I was reading instead of navigating, get up there, it's sunny, awesome view like you're on top of the world, see visitor center, hike summit, wave at Wendy on big island, hike into crater, get chewed out twice by man who thinks kids went off trail, eat lunch, drive down, walk around Makawao while kids sleep, go back to room, have dinner at expensive place with good food but slooooooow service. Day 5, wake up a wee bit later, head to Hana, make lots of stops, eat lunch at Hana bay (black sand beach), head to national park, swim in pools, go back to Hana for ice cream and shaved ice, just miss being able to see lava tube, drive back, experience Cary getting carsick which has NEVER happened before, drive back to room. Day 6, drive to blowhole, go to Kapalua for snorkeling, accidentally end up back at Napili bay instead, see mother of all honu and lots of fish, all this without Dearra, go back to room and drop off Tony and pick up Dearra, head to Lahaina for lunch and shopping, eat, buy stuff, go back to room. Day 7, drive to mile marker 14, snorkel all day, Dearra harasses crabs, kids all snorkel too without the snorkel (they didn't like the snorkels), my snorkel breaks which explains the large amounts of salt water getting in my mouth, yuck, I steal Dearra's snorkel, leave, shower, eat, go see Ulalena, which was awesome (story of the islands in song and dance with some help by cirque people to put show together), back to room. Day 8, pack up and check out after eating everything we possibly could that was in the room, go to aquarium, which was very worth it, eat lunch, go to Iao Needle and hike around, go to Costco optical to get Cary's glasses fixed (screw loose and then lost lol), drive down to Makena and see hermit crabs, then to the airport, check in, pass security, eat at Sammy's (awesome seafood bisque), get on the redeye, sleep badly, three hour layover and breakfast in LA, pick up nephew at Sacramento airport and then home. OK technically LA and Sac were day 9. That was my vacation in brief. What's up with you guys?

sounds like a week filled with lots of adventure and activities......most great and good (good food, awesome sightseeing, big turtle), some not so fun (car sickness, broken snorkle and glasses, sunburn) glad to see you back around....thought i am sure you wish you were still on vacation!

Welcome back! It sounds as if you had a great time, though it reads like a nine HOUR whirlwind trip rather than a week, LOL.

Well I really could have done one post per day, but I just didn't feel like it...
