Brief Movie Description: When a child molester/child killer is set free, due to foul play of the paper work, the parents of Elm Street decide to take the matter into their own hands. Catching him in the same boiler room where he had been killing their children, they burn the building down around him, killing Fred Krueger. They thought they were safe, that their actions would keep the rest of their children safe. What they didn't know is that they had only given Fred Krueger more power. After his death, Fred Krueger became something much, much worse. He comes back full swing, haunting the remaining teenagers of the adults who killed him. Catching them within their dreams, and what happens in their dreams, happens for real. It's up to Nancy, the daughter of the Sheriff, and a drunk to try and defeat Freddy Krueger while she watches those she cares about die around her. Will she survive, how do you defeat something that attacks in your dreams? Watch the movie to find out! Dawn gives this movie: 5 out of 5 Stars. A Nightmare on Elm Street: http://www.nightmareonelmstreet.com/ Sidenote: Did you know this was Johnny Depp's first movie role? He played Nancy's boyfriend Glenn. So what are your thoughts on " A Nightmare on Elm Street " ? Just the first movie, we'll cover the others in the series at a later date. Please, try to reply with serious responses to this discussion. I want a real discussion about the movie, not a bunch of one word answers. This isn't a one word question, it's asking you for your detailed thoughts.

Do you not like it anymore, if so why, did you merely grow out of enjoying the movie, or all horror genre movies in general?

Why was it only "ok" ? What did you not like about it, what could they have done to make it "better" for you?

This was one of the first horro movies I watched and I thought it was brilliant and very clever. The many sequels do not have anything on this one. The scary thing was that a killer could get into your mind and kill you in your sleep and there was nothing anyone else could do about it. I have heard that there were plans to make a prequel, seeing how Freddy did things when he was alive...that would be really interesting. Anyways...A Nightmare On Elm Street...excellent movie and well worth watching...a classic!
