What do you think about Chinese food

Some people think that Chinese food is a little oily and salty. As a Chinese, I like food with light taste. At the same time, which do you prefer cook at home or eat outside.

I would love to try some authentic Chinese food sometime. Most of what i have been exposed to here in the US has all been very Americanized from what i understand (lots of battered and fried and overly sauced things) I LOVE to cook at home, maybe i need to do some research and look up some more traditional Chinese recipes and try my hand at making them myself. Do you have any particular dishes/meals you would recommend that are fairly simple but good?
