Generation next - gap or lack of understanding?

We have always faced with the opposition or rebel in our children to the ideas or the good values that we want them to follow. So what is this due to - is it a generation gap, which we also would have undergone as children with our parents, or is it a lack of understanding to bridge this gap, from both the sides? Whatever it is, unless there is an effort from both the sides to bridge this gap - there would always be friction due to differences of opinions and views between the parents and children. So what in your opinion is required to be done to bridge this generation gap?

You are right, this lack of understanding creates a very non-cordial atmosphere. The lack of understanding is also because of the generation gap, so one of them should make the first move and get to bridge the gap by communicating the views of each other. Only this way the lack of understanding could be coped up with and made up in life.

Yes I guess, and that will go a long way in reducing the gap.
