What are your traditions?

With Christmas getting closer everyday, I have been thinking about what to do this year. I want to make Christmas something even more special this year. My kids are always home on a Sunday for dinner, it is our family time where we all sit down together and talk about what we did during the week and what was the best bit and what was the worse bit, so keeping that in mind, I started to think about what more I could do on Christmas day to make it better than Sunday dinners. We usually end up in some sort of battle, whether it is water fights or a football game in the back yard but I wanted to do something more and was wondering what other people traditionally do on Christmas day to make it special?

Maybe you can try to learn to do something that you have never done before from your children or your wife, making cakes with your children, or trying to printing a big picture on the wall with your family. You can make a MV to record the happiness, just do it in secret ! I think it may be very interesting~

I am a single mum but thank you, you have just given me a great idea to do a secret video of my kids and the rest of the family that I can show to them on Christmas day. Thank you.

Growing up, we always got the whole family together on christmas eve, (aunts, uncles, cousins) from my dad's side and had a big dinner at my grandmother's house. Everyone would bring food and treats, and we would usually do a gift exchange. Christmas day we would spend at home, just mom, dad, me and my little brother. We would have lots of yummy foods, but no real BIG meal, mostly appetizer/finger food type things, and we would watch christmas movies all day and just be together. nothing really SPECIAL per say....but it was nice.

It is always wonderful to spend special occasions with people you love and then you have the memories that you can cherish. You may not think it was anything special but it sounds like it is special to me. Thank you for your comment.

I don't know how to answer your question ,cuz my family don't have such more programmes like yours ,maybe i haven't got my baby yet ,we just reunion to have a wonderful meal in such festivals ,and i also adapt it ,cuz i think i feel satisfy enough with being together with them ,i love them ,i bless all my family peace and healthy ,i suppose that is enough ,don't need objects or money to support this relationship ,all right that's just my own opinion ,just for ur reference !

Well in my family we normally have a big potluck dinner, then do a gift exchange for the children, and one for the adults. We talk about the year and catch up for the most part since it is the time when most of the family sees each other. Not too extravagant, but it works best for our family. Best part is all the food from many different cultures that are family has in it.Pies!!

That sounds really awesome and a really good idea. Maybe I could get everyone in mine to make and bring their favourite food. Thanks.
