Shouldn't "MatchMaker" Be One of the Jobs of a Church Elder?

Not necessarily 'betrothal-creator' (like in -Fiddler on the Roof- where the matchmaker picks out a girl for the guy and declares "It's a match!"), but more like 'seeing that two kids fit each-other well, adviser to each of them to help them get together.' I ask because ... well, I'm a 'gentleman' but -not an 'ideal suitor' (oh I'd be an alright husband/father, so long as I don't have to TAKE people anywhere or PAY FOR much more than myself). And I'm noticing that women I 'plan to wait for' (to marry, as my godfather told me he married my godmother by 'saying "yes" when she asked') are too-often 'swept-off their feet' (and '-away from me') by men who CAN 'take them places & pay for things.' I plan to ask a favorite Church Elder to guide me in 'securing a match I'm "waiting-for"' (including telling me if she's "viable for marriage"). Good idea?

Confiding to an elder or elderly person whom you trust for guidance is helpful. Praying to God is first and foremost.
