Everyone is familiar with the anonymous quote "If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were." SCENARIO: My friend and her ex and have been on and off for a about 3-4 years and she finally decided to just let him go and move on because she was just tired of all of the bull crap that was going on. After 4 more years he decided to get in contact with her and now he wants her back. Would this quote apply to her situation or should time determine it all?

Let time determine but it is my guess that the past will determine the future (on and off) but nothing is written in stone. It is really up to them.

the quote don't apply to his situation. he wants her back because he is alone. that is not love. maybe i'm wrong.
