The island is one of the most well protected and biggest middle age cities in Europe. And it’s has almost 300 days sunlight in a year so island became one of the popular holiday centers. With clean sea and neat beaches island Rodos has claimed the Europe Blue Flag price couple of times. At the middle age island is homeland of St. John Knights after that Ottoman Empire claimed the island and sometime in history island was ruled by Italians. So today island is showing three different cultures’ residuals. Rodos’ main harbour is in the town Rodos. At here there are two parts of living old town and the new town. One of the most beautiful beaches of the island is there at the new town. Old Town is well preserved middle age city which is the heart of the island. Town is still surrounded by walls which density is 4 ft(12 meters). The town is separated to two area. One is the Knight’s area at the middle age and other is the public area witch called Hora. If you are looking for a culture vacation Rodos will satisfy you. On the other hand. East side of the island is full of many cute beaches. But the west side of island has more luxurious holiday centers. At the island you can find almost every kind of water sport equipments and nice places to do them. If you are at the town Rodos nearest beach is one of the clean and neat beaches of Rodos. But if you got time you can take the bus to the east side of the island. On the east side there is white sands and green forrests. West side beaches are more rocky and windy but this area is perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving or surfing.
