Does the local dialect made as a subject in school help improve the educational status in the Philippines?

There are 2 comprehensible dialects existing in the Philippines. One is Filipino and the other is a local dialect. The incorporation of the latter as a subject in school does not improve nor help in alleviating the educational status among students in the Philippines, hence, the subject made the learning more difficult because the student has to identify the meaning of each spoken word out from the original Filipino word. Like for example, the Filipino word "asawa" is either a wife or a husband, but in local dialect the word "asawa" is a plain wife. There are more complicated Filipino words that has an opposite or even give a different meaning from to the local dialect. Having the two of them creates trouble in understanding especially to slow learners making it more difficult for them to move forward. To avoid misunderstanding, a local dialect should not be incorporated as a subject but make it as a way to translate a Filipino word or sentence in order for the student to easily understand.
