The corporate world

What does one have to do to move up in the corporate world? Seems like you almost have to kiss some ass to get any where anymore. Even having a degree and experience doesn't get you a good raise.

my guess is related to money in some way but also sure there are exceptions. also thinking that kissing has always been around since forever
