Japanese food has invaded and conquered the global food scene. The famous Sushi rolls have taken on a higher level of demand not only in Asian countries but also internationally speaking. People order sushi on a daily basis and crave it day and night. Sushi for breakfast? Not a bad idea at all. You’d be surprised by how many people have sushi as their first meal of the day, sushi lovers consist of not just the ladies but also a large number of the male population like of sushi. Here at Shanghai Tokyo Café, a popular College Park sushi location, we all love to wine and dine, there’s no shame in that. Who doesn’t enjoy devouring good food while drowning one’s self on a drink that goes perfectly with his meal? We have asked around and listed the top 6 favorite drinks in random order to pair with your sushi: 1. Sake This famous rice wine has been known to be paired with Sushi. Both these two share a common ingredient which is wine and they are traditionally enjoyed together even before they hit the western seas. 2. Martini James Bond’s favorite choice of drink is also considered to be greatly paired with sushi. We just don’t know if people prefer it to be shaken or stirred. I myself enjoy eating sushi with martini so I myself can attest to this. A fancy drink paired with a fancy meal, seems fitting eh? 3. White Wine White wine is usually paired best with white meat so this would be the best kind of wine to be paired with sushi. Many people would agree to this. Nothing could go wrong with pairing these two. Everyone enjoys a glass (or two) of wine so if you haven’t tried it, it’s never too late. 4. Beer An ice-cold beer is probably the best and most simple drink that could satisfy any beer-drinker on any day. This drink goes well with any food especially when served chilled. 5. Saka-tini Now if you haven’t heard of this one then you got to try this one out. It is made of 4 parts clean vodka, 1 part dry sake on ice shake well for one minute then strain into an ice cold glass, garnished with crisp cucumber and lemon twist. How refreshing does that sound? 6. Shochu Another authentic Japanese drink. This beverage is made up of different ingredients and unlike the famous Sake, Shochu is distilled and is usually 25% alcohol.
