Prior to entering the Australian government in 2008, and serving as a senior economic advisor to then-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd from 2008 to 2010, Andrew Charlton enjoyed several Directorships. Andrew Charlton served as Chairman within the GoFundraise Pty Ltd. from 2007 to 2008, and was Alternate Director within the Envotec organization during that same period. He also held a Directorship within the Global Television organization between 2007 and 2008, and held a position within Oxford Investment Research between 2005 and 2008.
Charlton had also served as an elected fellow of the statutory governing body of the University of Sydney from 2000 to 2001. Andrew Charlton is often known as the author of the book Ozonomics, published by Random House Australia in 2007, as well as the co-author of Fair Trade for All, which he wrote alongside Nobel Laureate Economist Joseph Siglitz in 2005.
He has composed numerous articles throughout his career, and is responsible for two insightful quarterly essays of note. Before joining Coles and Wesfarmers, Charlton was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University in 2001, and received the Edgeworth Prize for the best doctoral thesis in economics in 2005.
