Whenever you listen to Manowar, does the band give you hope? Does the band give you the desire to carry on with life? The first Manowar song I heard was Master of the Wind. I was not totally impressed with it the first time I heard it. But listening to it over and over again made me realize how wonderful and calming it really was. Master of the Wind is a song that gives me a lot of peace of mind. It is the song that I listen to when I get tired of all those senseless noises around me. Master of the Wind made me discover other Manowar songs such as Courage, Call to Arms, The Power of Thy Sword, I Believe, Swords in the Wind, Heart of Steel, and Warriors of the World United. I also wouldn’t forget Gods of War – my most favorite Manowar song. In my opinion, Gods of War doesn’t only best describe the sound of Manowar. It also shows the band’s skills when it comes to writing inspiring, encouraging lyrics. I could still remember those times when I was really feeling hopeless. There were times when I had already given up my dreams – I felt like they can no longer be attained. All this hopelessness was virtually erased by Manowar’s music. Manowar made me want to believe in myself and fight again. They made me feel that there was still hope, even though in reality, there was really none. That’s why I’m very thankful to Manowar. Their music serves as my only friend when my so-called friends in this life just suddenly disappear. So Brothers (and Sisters) of Metal, I know you have the Courage to share your thoughts given to you by the Gods of War. Don’t be afraid to show The Power of Thy Sword. Feel free to share your ideas!
