What's the different between hiking and trekking?

Hi guys, I'd like to know what's the different between hiking ad trekking? is the trekking more difficult than hiking? Many thanks guys! Horry

From what I was able to find, hiking is done on established trails, where as trekking is on established routes, in places where there are no means of transport.
