Hello again - what has happened to you over the last two years?

Paddy - my beautiful boy

It's good to see myLot back in action, and even better to see so many familiar faces again. Quite a few of us have kept in touch over the last couple of years, and have always hoped that we would one day come back 'home.' However, things change, and for lots of us, things will be different now. In the last two years I've almost lost my daughter to a stroke, welcomed another grandchild into the world, and said goodbye to several much loved friends who have departed this life. I've also acquired a beautiful dog - Paddy, so-called because he came to us on St Patrick's Day - and my writing career has gone from strength to strength. I need another few hours in every day, which means I won't be able to spend as much time as I'd like here, but I'll drop by most days, even if it's only for a while. So, over to you - what's changed for you since we were last here together?

I lost my mom in 2013. I drank heavily for the next two years. Life was well, drunk, wait that was me not life! I had a little puppy named Buddy that I loved dearly and I had him for a year of his life until some... **mean names** poisoned him and that happened in May. Then I quit drinking some time after that happened and I am almost on 80 days sober. I also have a lot of hours of watching nieces and cleaning a house that has had 4 lil girls and lots of friends all over the place.

I'm sorry you lost your mom. That is always hard. I'm glad you quit drinking and I hope that lasts. I wonder what sort of person would poison a puppy. I'm so sorry you lost him.

I've met a lovely woman who really really wants to paddle me! No idea what she means but I think that it's going to be fun!

Let's just say a lot has happened over the course of two years. So much so, that it'd way be too long for a response! lol

I've had two operations, lost a few dear friends of my own, and am mostly living in our second home because of the surgeries. Our Templeton house is two story and since my surgery recovery meant no stairs, we moved seven miles away to the house I inherited from my mom. We were using it mostly for storage and entertaining, since it was much bigger. I've also changed my business plan from selling and shipping physical books to all affiliate selling and blogging. All that shipping of heavy boxes of books was becoming physically too hard on my after the surgeries.
