When you have a job interview and are hired do you have to go through a medical exam

We have both in all jobs here. Why I think I posted about it before. 
Used to finish all the requirements all the time before the first deay of work. This time it was different. I didn't take my medical exams before starting work this time.
No fingerprinting though because that already happens as another requirement for documentation to be submitted.
