Do We Have To Reduce Our Photographs In Size For Discussions?

I'm a bit miffed, to be honest. I've just submitted a discussion about my new obsession with adult colouring books..and I also uploaded a photograph of one of my colouring creations..and the thing went 'pop' or whatever the net does when something doesn't work lol. So, is it the fact I failed to reduce the photo size that the discussion didn't submit properly? Janey isn't happy!
